The first 200 kids will receive free kazoos. This is a BYOB event, beer and wine only. ID’s and coolers will be checked at the gate. This is our last concert of the Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series. Doggone Wild Pool Party – On Sunday September 9 th , we invite all spayed and neutered dogs to join us for our Doggone Wild Pool Party from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Animal Emergency Critical Care will be there with information and giveaways, and Woofies mobile pet groomers will be onsite for free nail trims. The cost of this event is $5/dog. Due to space restriction we will have to limit the amount of dogs in the pool at one time. Those who have pre-registered will have priority. Please see the Committee’s Charter for eligibility requirements and the outline of the responsibilities of the Committee. If you are interested in the opportunity, the Committee invites you to attend an upcoming meeting to meet the current Committee members and experience a meeting first hand. Upcoming meetings are currently scheduled for Monday, September 10, 2012 and Monday, October 1, 2012. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and are held at the management office located in Brambleton’s Town Center. Playing by the Rules – We would like to remind everyone of the community’s rules regarding trash collection:

Trash is collected on Tuesdays and Fridays and Recycling is collected on Fridays. Trash and recycling are to be placed in containers with tight fitting lids. Containers are to be put out for pick-up no earlier than the evening (after 6 p.m.) before

the day of the scheduled removal. Containers are to be stored out of view, following pickup, on the day of the scheduled

trash removal. Trash containers and recycling bins are not permitted to remain in a location visible from a neighboring property, except on days of trash collection.

Next Community Update Meeting – The Brambleton Group’s next open house meeting to discuss the latest vision for Brambleton 2012-2020 will be held next Wednesday, August 22nd from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Brambleton Welcome Center. To register for this event, please RSVP, so we can assure that adequate space is available. We hope to see you there!

TALK OF THE TOWN CENTER The Pat Sommers Rockshop will be performing a FREE Acoustic Classic Rock Summer Show at the Brambleton Amphitheater on August 25th at 7:30 p.m. Caliente will be hosting a pre-show party featuring food and drink specials beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Pat Sommers Rockshop is Northern Virginia's premier audition only youth rock music program for teens. The show will feature three Loudoun County Teens including Brambleton's own Eric Levy on drums and bass. This is the last outdoor show of the summer so bring a blanket and chair and enjoy an evening of music. **NO BYOB at this event!**

Johnny Rockets – We are in association with Volunteers of America, a collection point for "Operation Backpack". Their mission is to help homeless children get the necessary items to go back to school. You can help by stopping by our restaurant anytime during business hours and drop off school supplies: backpacks, notebooks, paper, pens, etc. Last year, there were more than 8,000 new filled backpacks from drives across the country. Getting an education stands as the number one problem affecting homeless children, but our community can band together to provide the supplies they need to get an education every child deserves.

GE Recalls Dishwashers Due to Fire Hazards – GE Appliances is recalling about 1.3 million dishwashers in the United States to address a fire hazard that may result from an electrical failure in a heating element. The dishwashers were sold under GE, GE Adora, GE Eterna, GE Profile, and Hotpoint brand names. Many Brambleton residents have been affected by this recall. Public Hearings on Proposed Toll Rate Increases Along Dulles Toll Road – Three Public Hearings have been scheduled to inform and solicit comments from the community on proposed toll rate increases along the Dulles Toll Road. The public comment period on the proposed toll rate increases will run from August 17 through September 16, 2012. During that timeframe, links to an “On-Line Open House” and an on-line public comment form will be available on the Airports Authority website at www.mwaa.com/tollroad. These public hearings will be conducted in an open house format, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., as follows:
