Our RIGHTs Our Moral Cause Our Solutions The REFERENDUM
UMNO Seats in Sabah = 32 possible 36
KDM Seats in Sabah = 19 possible 15
CHINESE Seats in Sabah = 9
To form the government in Sabah is to break the UMNO Seats ……
NO political party can do this UNLESS
A MUSLIM must take the lead in Sabah politics
Contenders PBS, PBRS, UPKO, STAR & PKR
Contenders PBS, MCA, LDP, SAPP, STAR & PKR
UMNO Strong presence
UMNO Strong presence
1. The KDM are in disarray, confused and have limited choice;
3. The Chinese has lost confidence with BN/UMNO – there is no real economic growth as well as no growth in business;
4. Because of UNCERTAINTY the majority of voters are fence-sitters;
2. The majority of the people are now financially self-sufficient (they don’t depend on the government for
their livelihood – due to good commodity prices);
1. When the KDM especially the Muslims & Muruts giving their support to STAR ……
2. When the USNO die-hards joining this struggle ……
3. Show a good business plan and stability the Chinese will throw-in their support ……..
By telling them that USNO sacrifice itself to get UMNO into Sabah – REFERENDUM will revive USNO to throw UMNO out ……
4. Give a strong “Moral Cause” which is worth fighting for and you win many FENCE SITTERs to the cause……..
Difficult for UMNO to counter the call for PRU13 as REFERENDUM & Self-Determination for Sabah;
Petroleum Development Act 1974; To break UMNO Nationwide is to break their main source of Funds;
Sabah & Sarawak will strike the first blow at the legality of the Petroleum Sharing Agreement;
The Possibility of taking an injunction against PETRONAS for stealing oil & gas off Sabah waters.
A Court injunction against FELDA in Sabah For their failure to meet the obligation of reducing poverty in Sabah
250,000 ha of palm oil land This move will affect the politics in Sarawak, Terengganu and
Kelantan – this will certainly put UMNO in the defensive;
The break-up of BN/UMNO in Sabah, is the catalyst for BN/UMNO breaking up Nationally.
The critical point is NOT the PRU13 itself, but the EVENTs leading to PRU13.
We believe a REFERENDUM for Sabah is the best route to SELF-
DETERMINATION or PUTRAJAYA we shall follow this route all are welcome to join.
For the last 2 years we have sown the seeds of discontent and dissatisfactions by explaining to the people how Sabah is discriminated, disenfranchisement and marginalized.
PRU13 is when we harvest what we have sown
To justify & understand the NEED for REFERENDUM, we need to know Sabah’s History in relation to the formation of Malaysia.
The British was desperate and manage to get Malaya go but was stuck with Singapore.
The British solve the Singapore impasse by including the Borneo Territories into the “Grand Design”
The British don’t want Singapore to fall into Communist hands, wants it to merge with Malaya.
Malaya don’t want to merge with Singapore because of its population structure.
Lee Kuan Yew sees Singapore an independent country
Tun Razak sees the Wealth of the Borneo Territories to Save Malaya
Tunku only sees his horse winning the next race.
Proceed to convince leaders in Sabah & Sarawak
Specifically Donald Stephen of Sabah
Impressing the Sabah leaders about his rural development
Specifically Datu Mustapha Harun
He is just a front to these conspiracy.
The IDEA of Malaysia was formally announced by Tunku Abdul Rahman in his speech to foreign correspondent at the Singapore Press Club:
May 27, 1961
As follow-up to Tunku’s announcement at the Singapore Press Club, Tunku was invited to London to discuss the matter further:
The London Discussion was held from the 20th to 22nd November 1961
Major outcome of London Discussion: “It was necessary to ascertain the VIEWS of the people of North Borneo and Sarawak”
The Cobbold Commission was headed by the Right Hon Lord Cobbold, appointment was made on January 16, 1962
The Term of Reference: 1. To ascertain the views of the people of North Borneo &
Sarawak on this question; and 2. In the light of this assessment of these views, to make
recommendations.
The Commission arrived in Kucing Sarawak on the February 19, 1962
The Commission receives:
2,200 letters and memoranda (600 in North Borneo & 1,600 from Sarawak) – so which one is the 20/18 points ????
50 Hearings at 35 different centers (20 centers in Sarawak and 15 in North Borneo)
Met with 4,000 people in 690 groups
Total population: 1,198,950 people North Borneo – 454,421 people Sarawak – 744,529 people
This is NOT even a SAMPLE, it is NOT a REFERENDUM !!!
Summary of Cobbold Commission Report contained in the following Sections:
Section A: Recommendations on Certain General Matters;
Section B: Recommendations by Sir Anthony Abell and Sir David Watherson;
Section C: Recommendations made by Dato Wong Pow Nee and Enche M. Ghazali b Shafie;
Section D: Summary of Recommendations in Section B & C and comments by the Chairman
Of the 4,000 people in 690 groups
1/3 Wants to form Malaysia, unconditionally
1/3 Wants to form Malaysia, with SAFEGUARDS
1/3 Wants INDEPENDENT before forming Malaysia
As convenience & speed the British took these decision as the people agreement to form Malaysia ……
Lord Cobbold recommended:
“ Representation of the Borneo territories in Federal Parliament should take into account not only of their population but also of their size and potentials”
Today, Sabah & Sarawak combined represents 60% of Malaysia landmass, 7 million people and economic potential of estimated more than RM200 billion per year.
Yet, Sabah & Sarawak only have 25% representation in Parliament ……
This was because of the “Off-side Trap” setup by both Lee Kuan Yew & Tun Razak ……
Lee Kuan Yew & Tun Razak convince the leaders in Sabah & Sarawak to form Malaysia …….
Federation of Malaya gets the wealth of Sabah & Sarawak …….
Singapore gets its INDEPENDENCE ……. And in addition
For 15 years all International Trades & Commerce goes through Singapore Ports and Airports …..
When Lee Kuan Yew was asked about Singapore Separation from Malaysia in relation to Sabah & Sarawak, all he can offer was “Deep Collateral Guilt”
In 1963, Total Parliamentary Seats was 159
Parliamentary Seats for Federation of Malaya was 104
Parliamentary Seats for Singapore was 15
Parliamentary Seats for Sabah was 16
Parliamentary Seats for Sarawak was 24
Total Parliamentary Seats for Singapore + Sabah + Sarawak was 55 or 35% sufficient to have MINORITY VETO
Federation of Malaya in cahoots with Singapore CHANGE this balance of power in Parliament ……… 9th July 1965
Total Parliamentary Seats was 144
Parliamentary Seats for Federation of Malaya was 104
Parliamentary Seats for Sabah was 16
Parliamentary Seats for Sarawak was 24
Total Parliamentary Seats for Sabah + Sarawak was 40 or 27% insufficient to have MINORITY VETO
Under the pretext of EJECTING Singapore from Malaysia
The Bill to EJECT Singapore from Malaysia was passed within 4 hours – from first reading to assent by the Yang DiPertuan Agong
The Singapore Separation Agreement was signed in Singapore 2 days BEFORE the Singapore Bill was brought to Parliament.
Except for a lone PAP MP from Bangsar, NONE of PAP MPs from Singapore attended the Malaysia Parliament on 9th July 1965.
Thus, ensuring MINORITY VETO in Parliament was denied to Sabah & Sarawak.
To avoid further dissent from Sabah & Sarawak, the Malaysia government:
1. Declared a State of Emergency in Sarawak and replace the Chief Minister;
2. The Chief Minister of Sabah was sent as the Malaysia High Commissioner to Australia and was replaced.
Singapore got its INDEPENDENCE on 9th July 1965, whilst it was also the beginning of Sabah & Sarawak becoming a COLONY of the Federation of Malaya.
Sabah Tanah Airku
Negeri Kita yang Tercinta
Pemuda Pemudi Semua Marilah
Bangunlah Bersatu Semua
Marilah Bersama Serta Maju Jaya
Merdeka Sepanjang Masa
Bersatu Segala Bangsa Sentosa
Sabah Negeri Merdeka ……
The spirit of Independence however lives on in our State Anthem
Sabah Tanah Airku ….
The First Window of Opportunity presented itself in 1976 when BERJAYA took-over the government in Sabah.
Unfortunately 6th June 1976 – took the lives of 9 of BERJAYA’s Top Leadership.
We do not believe they were killed just because of they refuse to sign the Petroleum Sharing Agreement ….. There was significant possibility of Separation from Malaysia – and INDEPENDENCE movement for Sabah.
The KDM was so busy gorging themselves to Sabah’s wealth that they have forgotten to preserve their own self-existence ….
The Second Window of Opportunity presented itself in 1985 when PBS took-over the government in Sabah.
The KDM Nationalist was so surprise of their success, but their struggle was HIJACKED by KDM Opportunists.
Accumulation and self-greed became the order of the day, its every men for himself – Everything in Sabah was “UP FOR SALE”.
The KDM forgot to amend the Interpretation (Definition of Native) Ordinance 1952 Cap 64 ……. Which was highlighted in the Cobbold Commission Report
In the eyes of the law, the KDM are NOT NATIVES of Sabah, they simply do not exist, therefore they are stateless …..
The very thing that they are fighting for a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) for Pendatang Tanpa Izin (PTI) may actually backfire on them ……..
As more and more KDM begin to realise this, they are losing respect for their present leadership – including the Huguan Siou or Paramount Chief – Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan
The majority of them are supporting Datuk Jeffrey Kitingan of STAR, it is not because of sentiments rather its because there is NO other alternative.
Borneo States
(56 +1 Seats)
BN
80+1 Seats PR
80+5 Seats
But we are not looking at this scenario as an opportunity for Sabah to be the KING MAKER
We shall take advantage of the situation to reinstate the original Terms in the Malaysia Agreement 1963
The Third Window of Opportunity presented itself in 2008 when PR should have formed the government in Putrajaya.
This is a more Permanent Solution
1. We have to tolerate 37 years of regressive educational system and we have to sacrifice 3 generations of global competitiveness in the name of Nationhood. Yet Racial & Religious polarization in Malaysia today is worse than the early days of Independence;
2. After 49 years of Centralized economic & financial mis-management the National Debt totaled RM450billion. Debt created to develop Malaya which Sabah & Sarawak now must share to pay;
3. For the interest of the Nationhood and protecting the National shipping industry – Cabotage Policy was introduced in 1980. Sabah has to suffer 32 years of discrimination & disenfranchisement , as the result Sabah having the highest cost of living in Malaysia;
4. After 49 years with Malaysia, Sabah has the worse Health systems and the Highest incidence of VECTOR diseases such as TB & Malaria, in addition to:
Sabah is suffering from insufficient Specialist, Doctors and Nurses;
5. After 14 years TENAGA Nasional Berhad (TNB) taking over power generation & distribution in Sabah, Sabah still suffer the highest interruption (2,500 mins) of electricity supply in Malaysia compared to the lowest interruption (33 mins) in Malaya. As the result Sabah is NOT ALLOWED to industrialized and encourage investments opportunities;
Sabah has insufficient medical Facilities and Infrastructure;
Sabah has the highest mortality 11.5 per 1,000 live births compared to 8.1 for the nation;
6. Sabah the main producer of Palm Oil & Petroleum in Malaysia, yet Sabah also has the highest incidence of POVERTY in the Country and insufficient BASIC Needs;
Sabah & Sarawak has 6,000 km of sealed roads compared to 21,300 km in Malaya;
Sabah has insufficient clean water supply only 66% coverage compared to 95% coverage in Malaya;
Sabah has the lowest coverage for electricity supply 23% without electricity compared to 0.5 % without electricity in Malaya ;
7. Despite expensive National spending on security, the large presence of illegal immigrants are evidence the borders are porous & unsecured;
8. We have lost our political autonomy through the presence of Centralized Malaya based political parties, in particular BN/UMNO and PR.
9. We have lost control over immigration into our States and have been denied our role in citizenship and national registration matters. Now, even illegal immigrants from neighboring countries are favored over our native population who are systematically diluted, disenfranchised, and marginalized.
10. In 2011 Budget which totaled RM109 billion. Sabah & Sarawak was allocated RM9.75 billion. This means each of the Borneo state was allocated less than 5% of the National Budget. Yet Sabah & Sarawak contributed to more than 60% of National Income. In 2012, Sabah hardly get anything;
We in Sabah & Sarawak don’t see resolving these 10 points as unreasonable REINSTATEMENT of our RIGHTs. But our voice, our power in Parliament has been curtailed;
IF taking our wealth is not enough, we are given poor and sub-standard facilities & infrastructure, poor maintenance and under staff. NOT satisfied treating Sabah poorly, imposing the Cabotage policy is choking our Trade, Industry and Commerce.
How long can any Malaysian in Sabah take these …..???
We want to determine our own FATE & DESTINY …..
We want to stand proud and be treated EQUAL …..
We want to a better way of life …..
Basically we just want SELF-DETERMINATION
But even when SELF-DETERMINATION is NOT possible …. then
We want the NATION to honor, adhere and reinstate the Terms in the Malaysia Agreement 1963
“Malaysia is greater than the sum of all its parts” Therefore a Strong Sabah is a Strong Malaysia
Changing the perceptions of both the 20%
and the 80% of the population simultaneously…… in addition
We must have a “Moral Cause” that can trigger the intellect as well as the sentiments of the Sabahans.
We need to TRIGGER the Spirit of Independence in every Sabahans ……
“SABAH NEGERI
MERDEKA”
This call will provide the way for SELF-DETERMINATION to Sabah
As well as a shield by the Sabah State Anthem ….
Taken from the Sabah Tanah Airku
This is a set of powerful words that can unite Sabahan across religious beliefs, race, age, traditions, and culture;
Even this may not be sufficient to defeat UMNO/BN in Sabah ……
We cannot do things in HALF Measure
We cannot do things in Bits and Pieces
We cannot do things selectively
We must do it wholeheartedly
We must be able to carry through a FULL Swing on Public perceptions ……
We need a NEW course of Action
We need a NEW Direction
We need a Game Changer
We need a CALL for SOLIDARITY
We make the PRU13 A REFERENDUM for Sabah, to choose
A. Choose MALAYA (BN/UMNO or PR) and maintain the status quo and may be worse; or
B. Choose to be a BRITISH PROTECTORATE to achieve SELF-DETERMINATION
