WINAMAC, IN - Delores A. “Dee”Girton, 86, died at 5am, Friday,December 20, 2019, at HickoryCreek, Winamac. She was born April13, 1933, in Monterey, Indiana to thelate Peter G. and Anna C.(Schmicker) Hammes. On July 31,1953, in Winamac, she marriedClarence R. Girton.
Delores graduated high school fromAncilla Domini/Poor Hand Maids ofJesus Christ, Donaldson, Indiana.She was a member of St. Peter’sCatholic Church and an active mem-ber and past president of the Ladies ofCharity and Christian Mothers. Shealong with her mother and husband,was instrumental in the founding ofthe Good Samaritan Store, Winamac,which celebrated 50 years in 2019.She was a longtime member of thePulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.She fostered many children over theyears and enjoyed volunteering in thecommunity. She loved her family.
She is survived by three daughters:Pat Mersch of McCordsville, Indiana,Mary Girton Kasten of Winamac, andGerilynne (Lars) Rishaug of NewCarlisle, Indiana, one foster daughter,Margie (Jay) Willoughby Rifkind ofGreenwood, Indiana, two sons: BillGirton and Rob Girton, both ofWinamac, thirteen grandchildren andeleven great grandchildren. She waspreceded in death by her husband,Clarence, one son, Bobby Girton andthree sisters: Margaret Effinger,Catherine Reutebuch and PaulineHouin.
Services were held Monday,December 23, at St. Peter’s CatholicChurch with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman.Burial was in St. Peter’s Cemetery,Winamac. Memorial contributionsmay be made to the Ladies of Charityor St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Arrangements were made by FrainMortuary, Winamac.

WINAMAC, IN - James Paul Register,41, died Friday, December 20, 2019.He was born August 3, 1978, inWinamac, Indiana.
James worked for Rays Movers asa truck driver. He enjoyed fishing,going to demolition derbys, watchingthe Chicago Bears, working on hishouse and spending time with his fam-ily.
He is survived by his wife, Christine,children: Isabella, Taylor, Brittney andZachary, his father, Bruce (Tammy)Becraft, his mother, Diane Register,siblings: Brucie Register, BryanFitchpatrick, Zack (Danielle) Register,Kimber Irwin, Kara (Allen) Register,Donnie (Andie) Irwin, Vanessa(James) Crawford, Natasha (Bryan)Perkins, Danielle Perkins andDominique Perkins. He was precededin death by one sister, Ashleyh Irwin.
A memorial service will be held at alater date.
Arrangements were made by FrazierFuneral Home, DeMotte and Monon,Indiana.

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Mark K. Reed,61, died Monday, December 23, 2019,at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, Indiana.He was born August 23, 1958, in Knox,Indiana, to the late Floyd and dovie(Troyer) Reed. On July 31, 2016, inNorth Judson, he married Lisa Bostain.
Mark was a former employee ofGalbreath, Inc., Winamac, Indiana. Hewas very active with Relay For Life andenjoyed fishing, baseball and spendingtime with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa, twodaughters: Melissa (Pete) Otroshko ofKnox, Indiana and Terri (John) Hurt ofLaPorte, one granddaughter, fourbrothers: Richard Reed, Floyd (Vonda)Reed and Jeff (Rosemary) Reed, all ofKnox and David Reed of North Judsonand three sisters: Shirley (Till) Goble ofEau Claire, Michigan, MaxineMasterson of Arkansas and SheilaMesser of Knox. He was preceded indeath by three brothers: Joe, Greg andBobby Reed and two sisters: PatHazlett and Phyllis Barnett.
Services were held Saturday,December 28, at Rannells FuneralHome. Burial was in the Oak ParkCemetery, Knox. Memorial contribu-tions may be given to the family.
Arrangements were made byRannells Funeral Home, HamletChapel, Hamlet, Indiana.

WINAMAC, IN - James L. “Big Jim”Mueller, 62, died Sunday, December22, 2019, at IU Health LaPorteHospital, LaPorte, Indiana. He wasborn September 28, 1957, to the lateKenneth and Beverly (Schavoni)Mueller.
Big Jim was an avid Chicago WhiteSox fan, horseshoe player, pool playerand a big fan of harness racing and heloved music.
He is survived by his better half andtrue love, Pam Deer and one brother,Kenneth Mueller.
No services will be held per Jim’srequest.

Jan was a 1968 graduate of KnoxHigh School and had loved working asan EMT for Starke County EMS formany years.
She is survived by one daughter,Angie (James) Garner and four grand-children.
At Janice’s request her body was tobe donated to science. A gravesideservice will be held at a later date.Memorials may be given to the StarkeCounty Youth Club or a charity of thedonor’s choice.

KNOX, IN - James N. “Jim” Johnson,85, died Monday, December 16, 2019.He was born July 1, 1934, in Decatur,Illinois, to the late Joseph Byrl andEmma Elizabeth (Hurst) Johnson. OnOctober 15, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant,Pennsylvania.
Jim was a graduate of Ramsay highSchool, Mt. Pleasant. and was the pre-vious owner co-owner of Kemco inKnox and owned/operated Ourco, Inc.,Hamlet, Indiana. He was a formermember of Rotary Club, enjoyed theColts, Bears and Steelers games, yardwork and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary AnnJohnson of Knox, his children: Lori Ann(Elvis) Cole, James Joseph (Jayne)Johnson, both of Knox and TammySue Ringle of Hamlet, Indiana, ninegrandchildren and twenty four greatgrandchildren. He was preceded indeath by siblings: Betty Gatons, KennyJohnson and Jack Johnson.
A private family memorial will be heldat a later date at the Oak ParkCemetery, Knox. Memorials may begiven to the Kidney Foundation.
Arrangements were made by M.C.Smith Funeral Home.

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Mary JaneThompson, 80, died Thursday,December 19, 2019, in Indianapolis,Indiana. She was born January 17,1939, in Knox, Indiana, to the late Ceciland Grace (Marshall) Fisher. OnOctober 6, 1956, in Knox, she marriedPerry Thompson. He died November28, 2015.
Mary Jane was a member of theLittle Dove Baptist Church and a fero-cious prayer warrior. She was a mem-ber of the Knox Moose Lodge. Shedrove the special needs handicap busfor NJSP schools for nearly 20 years.Mary Jane enjoyed her Yahtzee Club,watching the Hallmark Channel, gameshows, studying the Bible, reading andspending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Perry(Lisa) Thompson Jr of North Judson,three daughters: Susan (Lenny)Lippner of Knox, Linda (Rick) Warrenof Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Lora(Shawn) Hall of Nashville, Tennessee,eight grandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren, two brothers: Cecil“Jim” Fisher of North Judson andLeRoy (Betty) Fisher of Kouts, Indianaand four sisters: Phyllis (Jeff)Shepherd and Bertha Blue, both ofKnox, Marilyn (Gary) Lockridge ofNorth Judson and Carol (Ron) Collinsof Eddyville, Kentucky. She was pre-ceded in death by one brother, JackFisher and one sister, Rosella Fletcher.
Services were held Monday,December 23, at Braman & BaileyFuneral Home, with Rev. Alvin Allenofficiating. Burial was in the RoundLake Cemetery, Knox. Memorials maybe made to the Little Dove BaptistChurch.
Arrangements were made byBraman & Bailey Funeral Home, NorthJudson.
