GAUGE:
2 ripples = about 4 in. (10 cm) measured from peak to peak.
When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern andthe materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in thepattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from personto person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller sizehook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up aloop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook – 1 st decreased.

1. Blankie is worked in a ripple crochet pattern. The ripple pattern is easy to do, but it’s important toremember that you may need to work several rows before the ripple pattern becomes clear. The ripplepattern consists of alternating peaks and valleys. Take care to keep the peaks and valleys of each rowaligned.2. When working in ripple crochet, your piece probably won’t lay flat until you’ve worked a few rows (howmany rows depends on your yarn and gauge).
