1st Reading: Exodus 34:4b—6, 8—9

Moses went up Mount Sinai to meet the Lord. He begged the Lord to accompany the Israelites, “a stiff-necked people.”

He asked God to pardon their wickedness and sin.

2nd Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:11—13 Paul encouraged the Corinthians to mend their sinful ways and help one another live in peace. He wrote to them, “The grace of

the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.”

Gospel: John 3:16—18 God loved the world so greatly that he sent his only Son that all

may have eternal life. The Son did not come to condemn the world but that it might be saved through him. Whoever believes

in the Lord will live forever.
