FPUA VPN Guide The following instructions apply to Internet Explorer on a Windows computer. If you are using a different web browser or version of Windows, the steps may vary slightly for you. If you have any questions, contact the ITS Help Desk at extension 3911.

If you already have a previous version of the Checkpoint VPN software installed on your computer, you will need to uninstall it prior to proceeding. To do so, go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Checkpoint VPN -> Uninstall and reboot.

VPN Download and Install Steps

Step 1: Open a web browser and go to http://www.fpua.com/vpn/index.aspx

Step 2: Left Click on the appropriate “Check Point VPN Installation”

Connect to FPUA by VPN

Note: Before you can connect to our VPN server, you must be connected to the Internet.

1. In the bottom right corner of the screen, you should see an icon that looks like a padlock. This is the

Check Point Endpoint Security VPN connector. Right click on the icon and select Connect.

2. The VPN software will attempt to establish a connection to the VPN server. In the VPN

Authentication section, enter your FPUA Username and Password, and then click Connect.

3. The icon in your system tray will spin indicating that the client is working. You will see briefly in the

system tray a login banner that reads: Connection succeeded.

You are now connected securely to the FPUA network, and you can access resources using the

application of your choice.

NOTE: To disconnect, right click the padlock icon in the System Tray and click Disconnect.

Connect to Your Computer Note: Before you can connect to our computer, you must be connected to the Internet and connect by VPN.

1. While connected to the VPN, go to StartRun and type mstsc and press enter or press Windows logo

key +R.

2. Windows 10 Users can click on the “Search the web and windows” field and then type mstsc and press

enter or you can simply press the Windows logo key +R to bring up the “Run” command dialog

window and then type mstsc and press enter.

3. Once you see the dialog screen below, type in the name of your computer at work which is usually

either your last name or your last name first initial. After that click on “Connect”

4. Input your username and password. Your username may need to be preceded by “ESCNET\”

5. When finished, log off the remote computer or click the “X” near the top center of the remote screen. Lastly disconnect from the VPN by right clicking the padlock icon in the lower right and choosing disconnect.
