R.C.I.A. - R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) classes will be starting in January 2017 and running through May 2018. This is for anyone that would like to consider joining the Catholic Church. Reception into the church would take place Easter of 2018. It is also a great opportunity for existing Catholics to brush up on their faith if so desired. Thank You - A very special THANK YOU to all who donated items for the Operation Santa project. The kindergarten/first grade class at St. Joseph's made cards for the stockings and were able to put together 40 bags of items to help stuff the stockings! Thanks again!

Cursillo - Congratulations to Ann Adkins…she is the newest member to our Cursillo Family!!

The next Cursillo will be for Men from January 26 - January 29. The Peoria Cursillo is primarily a lay movement. It is an instrument of renewal by which Christianity can permeate, live and grow in today's world. It proposes no new type of spirituality but a method through which one's spirituality can be strengthened, lived and shared in all areas of one's life. Catholic Women’s League - The Catholic Women's League will have its General Meeting on Tuesday, November 15th at 9:30 am at St. Jude in Peoria. The Rosary will follow the meeting. Please note that the November Rosary is on a Tuesday, not our usual Monday.

Bazaar – The Annual Bazaar of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, East Peoria, will be held at their Motherhouse, 1175 St. Francis Lane, East Peoria (Access Road #14 off of route 116), on Friday, November 18th 9:00 am – 5 pm, and Saturday, November 19th 9 am – 2 pm. There are a variety of items that will be available for sale. Proceeds from this Bazaar will be used to assist the poor.

St. Joseph’s Hanging of the Greens Please mark your calendar for St. Joseph’s annual Hanging of the Greens. This is a

wonderful time of fellowship and fun as we prepare the church for the Christmas season.

Food Pantry – The holidays are just around the corner. Please help by donating to the Eureka Area Food Pantry. All twelve participating churches collect at holiday time. We live to have our shelves stocked with items listed below by the first or second week of November. Collection will continue through the end of December. Each client is allowed to shop one time per month. Only those clients living in Unit District 140 are allowed to use the pantry. Prayerfully consider giving. Monetary donations are always appreciated.

Low Vision - TCRC Sight Center, through a United Way grant, and Magnified Vision host monthly Living with Low Vision Information and Consultation Day on November 8. Information days are offered to people who are coping with significant vision loss and want to maintain their independence and quality of life. Topics include safety, technology, home adaptations, daily living aids, talking books, lighting, mobility, state and federal support programs, and more. Fall Bazaar – The 3rd Annual Fall Bazaar will be held Saturday, November 12 from 10:00am – 2:00pm at the Benson Legion, 314 Front St. Benson. It is hosted by the Jr. Women’s Club of Benson. Illuminate the Town for the Kids of St. Jude – Sponsored by Minonk to Peoria St. Jude Runners 1. Buy your luminaries at Minonk Chocolate Company, Monday – Friday 9am-5pm & Saturdays 9am-1pm 2. Pay $5 for a set of 10 luminaries (bag, candle, sand). 3. Decorate your bags for your personal heroes if you would like. 4. Light your luminaries on Saturday, December 3rd on the night of the Minonk Parade of Lights.

2ND Annual Christmas Trees for a Cure - 100% of the proceeds benefit Minonk to Peoria St. Jude Run. As a Tree Sponsor, we invite you to decorate a 3” or smaller artificial Christmas tree in any theme. Anyone or group can be a Tree Sponsor. Raffle tickets will be sold for chances to win the donated trees. Drawing for the winners will take place after the Minonk Parade of Lights on December 3rd (need not be present to win). Salvation Army Kettle Bell Ringing - We need bell ringers with a jolly and cheerful attitude this season! Are you or your group interested in ringing the traditional Salvation Army kettle bells this holiday season? We are trying something new with sign ups this year and would love to have you or your group sign up. (Please try to keep a mixture of adults with children when signing up). While proceeds benefit the Salvation Army, 70% of the funds received come back to us locally at Woodford County Heartline and Heart House.
