Facilities Foundations Bi-Weekly Bulletin October 30, 2015 All Hands Meeting - November 17 Our next All Hands Meeting will be held on No- vember 17 from 8:00 - 9:30 am at Holloway Com- mons. An agenda with more information will follow in the coming weeks. Spruce Hole/Artificial Recharge Basin Opening Event The new Spruce Hole well is a joint effort be- tween the University and the town of Durham used to support water for both UNH and the town. The new well features artificial recharge basins at ground level which will allow UNH to stock pile water when the Lamprey river is high. The water will then filter down to the well below and create a surplus for use when we enter drought season in the summer. The well has a long his- tory with many involved and this event will commemorate their efforts to get this well online. The event will be held: November 13 at 2:00 pm at the Spruce Hole Well/Durham Gravel Pit on Pack- ers Falls Road (Celebration at the Pump House, please park in the gravel pit) SnowCat Mobility Route Facilities Services and the UNH Disability Commission have been working togeth- er to create a priority plowing route for mobility challenged staff and students. This SnowCat Mobility Route will use two of our new sidewalk plows (Wacker Neu- son plows) with 7’ brooms. The plows will run non-stop during any snowfall event on 1 hour loops during the hours of 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. This investment in both equipment and manpower but will ensure that students and staff can depend upon this route during snow events on campus. esShout Outs: Dawn Duffy, Laurie Cilley, Max Page and Dennis

RickerHi Jane,

I just wanted to tell you that your team that handles incoming requests for Facilities is amazing. All of my requests are for the New England Center and we

all know that that is a full time job just trying to patch things. I always feel like I am ask- ing for things for this poor building and I feel bad doing it and the response I get is

always polite and cheerful. I haven’t talked to Dawn lately but Laurie is always on top of it and things get done!

I sent a long list of things yesterday and this morning I had Maxwell over here and Dennis and the “Mouse Lady” (Haydee’s Pest Control). It was great – and now everyone over here is happy and that makes me happy!

Please know how much we appreciate everything that you and your team do and also all the people who help fix everything that is wrong over here.
