A few people know that there are 78 sects of Muslims in India which are great enemies of each other. Recently two sects of Sunni Muslims -- Ahle Hadith and Deobandies – fought with each other in Motihari district of Bihar. The police had to interfere into the matter to stop violence afterwards and took control of the mosque.

Muslim society of India is unable to get itself free from the radical maulanas. Islamic scholars of Pakistani origin Tarek Fatah has started a programme on Zee News which has not gone down well with the radical elements. Maulana declared Tarek Fatah akafir (non-believer) and instructed Muslims to boycott his programme. Author of the Bangladesh origin Taslima Nasrin is also in the line of fire of radical Muslims. Now, these radical Muslims are instigating Muslims of the country to put pressure on the government of India to send them back to the country of their origin so they are given death sentence for their anti-Islamic activities.

Newly elected President of the US Donald Trump promised to the people of the country that if he wins election then he would ban Islamic jihadies to enter the country. He fulfilled his commitment and banned entry of the people of seven Islamic countries. Muslim countries did not like this action and they started protesting against it. Some of the Muslim countries took retaliatory action by not allowing Americans to enter into their territory.

Dispute over the attempt made by the Nizam of Hyderabad to send 10 lakh pounds to Pakistan is still in a court of Britain. Now, the amount has increased to over 3,000 thousand crore pounds. Besides India and Pakistan, heirs of Nizam have also jumped into this controversy.

This is very sad that even in the today’s modern world there are some people who don’t want to give legitimate rights of women. This is very strange that the biggest centre of Sunni Muslims Darul Uloom, Deoband does not allow any woman to enter into their mosques. When some of the trainee women officers tried to visit these mosques, they were not allowed. Similarly a woman from Hyderabad has been victim of the torture of Saudi Arabian husband. This Saudi citizen illegally confined her and her children and was not giving them even food. Relative of this women requested External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to interfere into the matter.

I Violence between two groups over offering namaj in a mosque

According to Inquilab (February 5), two Muslim sects in Sitamadhi district fought with each other over the control of a mosque in which police finally intervened. The fight was between the followers of Deobandi and Ahle Hadith sects. Local people say that a crowd forcibly entered into the mosque and tried to capture the mosque. This crowd was told to be of Ahle Hadith. Earlier Deobandies had control over this mosque and Imam of the mosque Maulana Mumtaz Ahmed Qasmi is also associated with Deobandi sect. According to the newspaper, supporters of Ahle Hadith forcefully entered the mosque and tried to erase a write up in the mosque and the administration drove them out on instructions of Abdul Rahman. The district administration instructed people from both the sects to produce documentary evidence before the administration. People from the Deobandi sects are demonstrating outside the madarsa. They are demanding status quo on the issue of mosque. They alleged that a Muslim leader close to the Bihar government was instigating people from Ahle Hadith to support capturing mosque. The newspaper claimed that mosque belonged to Deobandies and Ahle Hadith did not have any relations with it.

According to Inquilab (February 9), the newspaper wrote over the controversy of propriety of the mosque that before 1907 imam of this mosque was associated with Ahle Hadith and his son is the caretaker of the mosque. He said that claims made by Deobandies on this mosque were wrong. A person called Abdul Munnan presented a registration certificate of Waqf Board that confirms possession of Ahle Hadith on this mosque. On the other hand secretary of Deobandies Mohammad Shakir said that 125 years ago this mosque was built by Nawab Sarafraj Hussain. This mosque is mentioned in the survey done in 1894 and the mosque was under the control of Haji Ali Jung and later on mosque was built by bricks. Munshi Abdullah handed over both the mosques to the waqf in 1920. As per Sunni Waqf Board certificate, this mosque belonged to Deobandies. It is said that later on the mosque registered in the name of Ahle Hadith by one Mohammad Niyaz Ahmed. A complaint was filed in the Waqf Board but it was rejected. At present the matter is pending with tribunal.

Inquilab in its editorial on February 6 express regret over the fact that two groups of Muslims clashed with each other over a particular mosque in Sitamadhi district in Bihar. It is said in the editorial that there is nothing new in it about Muslims fighting with each other over offering Namaj in a particular mosque. Shia and Sunni fought with each other earlier also claiming right

over a particular mosque. Barelvi and Deobandi have the history of clashes with each other. Billboards are placed outside the mosque saying that this very mosque is for the particular sect of Islam and people from other sects cannot enter into it. But the clash at Sitamadhi was little peculiar where Ahle Hadith and Deobandis were fighting for a mosque. “We are not bothered who is right and who is wrong in this matter because for us mosques are of Allah and this thing which belong to Allah belongs to every Muslim,” said editorial. Not a particular community can have control over it for example the place decided by the government to offer namaj at Indira Gandhi International Airport was for everyone without any restriction. We feel that every mosque should be like that only. Please ponder over it peacefully that Muslims offer namaj at Masjid Nabi at Kaba and Medina then why they ask for their separate mosque as soon as they reach India. The condition of Muslims is such that real brother are not ready to offer namaj together forget about uncle and nephew. “We have heard that when a community is attacked by outsiders, it is united forgetting its internal differences but in the case of Muslims it is other way round,” said editorial. The entire world is against them but instead of uniting they are fighting with each other. Infighting among Muslims is bein fanned by Taliban, Boko Haram, ISIS, Al Nasira, Laskar e Toiba, Laskar e Jhangvi and Jaish e Mohammad. From where we have started and where we have reached. If we look back from our childhood to adulthood the Muslim divided in two sects, we would find that now they are divided in several sects. These sects are associated with different countries. On one hand this is the situation on the other hand Muslim localities are turning into ruins. Cities are drenched into blood forcing people to take refuge in other countries.

II

Growing unrest in the Islamic world

A write up by Manwar Mirza on January 19 in Dawat accepted that condition of Islamic world is deteriorating by the day and Muslims are killing each other. There is civil war continuing in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen and lakhs of people have been killed in these countries in a few years while condition of Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria and Tunisia is getting deteriorated. Al Qaida and ISIS are playing bloodbath with Muslims of Iran and Arabic nations. Over five lakh people have been killed and one crore twenty lakh rendered homeless due to ongoing civil war in Syria who are trying to take shelter in neighbouring countries, Europe and the US. The real fight in Syria is between Shia and Sunni. Condition of Iraq is very serious. Iraqi Army and Iranian militia failed to defeat fighters of ISIS and the US also joined this war in 2011. Interesting thing is that the US army in Iraq is also supported by Iran and Russia. Explosions by Human Bombs have become a daily affair in Iraq in which thousands of people are getting killed. Civil war in Libya is also continuing for over five years. Now, United Nations interfered there and set up a coalition government but civil is continuing to take control of the wealth of oil. Yemen has also become a battleground. On instigation of Iran, Habbasi tribals revolted

Page 7: Fortnightly Review of Urdu Press - India Policy Foundation_2017... · Dispute over the attempt made by the Nizam of Hyderabad to send 10 lakh pounds to Pakistan is still in a court

against the newly appointed Prime Minister of the country and captured the biggest city Sannah of the country. Later on Saudi Arabia and its ally countries have also joined this civil war. Iran is supporting rebels and as far as Saudi Arabia and Iran are concerned, tension between both the countries is escalating by the day over the claim of supremacy. Condition of an important nation in the world along the border of Europe and Asia Turkey is very bad. A rebel group of the Army already tried an unsuccessful coup. President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan alleged the hand of a Turkey citizen living in the US behind this coup. Over 70 thousand government employees were terminated from the job after this coup while over a lakh people have been sent to jail. People affected by the civil war started in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan in 2016, are looking for refuge in rest of the world. United Nations lifted the ban imposed on Iran. According to the newspaper, the campaign against Islam that was started after Donald Trump winning election in the US could not be neglected. In the parliamentary elections in Iran in 2016, the liberal group of Hassan Rouhani and his allies had got the majority and Lebanoni Parliament was able to elect a new President in 2016. The new President is 81-year-old General Michal Own. He belongs to Christian community. It is said that in the background of the appointment of the new President Iran, Saudi Arabia and the US had played major role.

Munsif in its editorial on January 30 criticised the decision of US President Donald Trump of banning entry of citizens of seven Muslim countries and said that protest was being organized across the world against him. US President accepted in a television interview that visa for citizens of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan has not been stopped but people coming to these places will be frisked more vigorously. If there is even slight doubt that they might harm the country then they will not be allowed in the country. We don’t want terrorism in our country. He made it clear that this ban was not against Muslims but against terrorists. By banning citizens of seven countries, Donalt Trunp wanted to give a message to the people that he loves and country and countrymen very much. The newspaper complained that though the new president is quite old but is very childish. He did not give an example of prudence by banning citizens of seven countries therefore he must reconsider it. The same newspaper published several pictures of the protest against Trump.

Budget allocation for minorities increased

According to Hamara Samaj (February 5), Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi claimed that there was huge increase in the budget of minorities welfare. He said that last year the budget for minorities was earmarked at Rs 3,827 crore which has gone up to Rs 4,195 crore. He said while addressing journalists that the government would not interfere into the matter of religious education while providing help to madarsa. He said that the government wants backwardness of minorities to be removed and they join mainstream. Hunar Haats are

being organized to encourage minority artisans. The Narendra Modi government guarantees job to minorities along with education and major steps are being taken in this regard. Chains of institutions for minorities are being set up in the country. Five universities are being set up for minorities. They are being given scholarship to the tune of Rs 393 crore besides that Rs 100 crore to be spent on Maulana Azad Fellowship Scheme and Rs 113 crore for Maulana Azad Education Fund. He said that arrangements are being made to provide mid-day meal in madarsa. He said that on one hand minority fund has been increased on the other hand he talked about spending 15 per cent fund of other ministries on minorities. He claimed that the Modi government was serious about development schemes for minorities and for that there would not be any dearth of funds. Minorities will be given maximum facilities so their development is faster.

Demand to constitute a separate Shia Waqf Board

According to Munsif (February 6), Bharatiya Janata Party leader Hanif Ali demanded that separate Shia Waqf Board should be made in Telengana. He was addressing Shia Waqf Conference organized by All India Shia Organisation. He said that the present joint waqf board is over burdened due to that it is unable to take care of the waqf properties. He claimed that in the past 50 years waqf properties were deliberately destroyed in Andhra Pradesh especially campaign is being run to occupy Shia Waqf properties. Another Shia leader said that to stop looting Shia properties Shia Waqf Board to be constituted. Mir Haji Ali said that there were over 11 thousand waqf properties in Telengana. According to present waqf Law if any sect has over 15 per cent waqf property a separate waqf board could be made. Shias from Andhra Pradesh are running a campaign for separate waqf board since 1986 but Sunni Muslims are not ready to give them justice.

Action against maulana issuing fatwa against the PM

According to Hindustan Express (February 10), management committee of Tipu Sultan mosque in Kolkata sought answers from its imam for making statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and issuing fatwa against him. This is to recall that imam of Tipu Sultan mosque Maulana Nurur Rahman Barkati issued a fatwa against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief of the management committee of the mosque Anwar Shah told reporters that mosques could not be used for instigating communalism and causing tension and this fatwa dented the image Muslims across the country. Anwar Shah said that this was very sad these mosques are used for political benefits. He said that any condemnation is less to these fatwas and this will harm Muslims more

than benefit them. Anwar Shah said that everyone had the right to protest against the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi but declaring prize money for someone who could plug his beards and scratching his mouth was absolutely uncalled for. For this use of mosque would not be allowed. Anwar Shah said that on another occasion he was issued noting by the mosque committee but he did not reply. But if this time he did not reply our letter, action would be initiated against him. He said that if need be scholars of Kolkata would be ask if such person should be made imam of any mosque who is instigating communal violence in the country and whose statement is spoiling image of Muslims among non-Muslims. On the other hand Maulana Nurur Rahman Barkati alleged that the management Committee is unleashing campaign against him on instructions of the BJP.

Rs 3000 crore of Nizam in controversy

According to Siyasat (February 7), the controversy over the money that Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Usman Ali Khan had sent to the Pakistan government through a bank in London is not yet over. The money that was 10 lakh pounds at the time of independence had increased to 3.5 crore pounds which in Indian currency is Rs 3000 crore.

This is to recall that Indian and Pakistan are tangled in legal battle for decades in a court in Britain. Now the controversy took a new turn. Recently a court in Britain rejected the Indian government’s claim that Pakistan does not have any right over this money. India claims that officials of the then Hyderabad state deposited this money in a bank in London to transfer this money to Pakistan three days after the merger of Hyderabad in the Indian Union so the money belongs to India. The Pakistan government accepted that a person in Karachi claimed to be the descendent of Nizam so he has the right over this money. The person also claimed that the money deposited in the bank in London belongs to him. The money belongs to Nizam and neither India nor Pakistan has any right over this money. After the death of Mir Usman Ali in 1967, his family member tried to settle the matter out of court but they did not succeed. As per government documents, this money was transferred by the finance minister of Hyderabad Moinuddin and representative of Hyderabad state in London Mir Ali. Later Nizam claimed that Pakistan did not have any right over this money. This was challenged by Pakistan so the court had ruled that till any final decision was taken the money should not be given to anyone. However, House of Lords of Britain took a decision in 1957 that dispute among Pakistan Government, Nizam Hyderabad and London Bank to be decided outside court. In 2013, the Pakistan government made a claim in the court that the money should be given to it after that Indian government jumped into the battle. Looking at the intensity of the dispute it is very difficult to guess who will get the money.

New era of friendship between India and United Arab Emirate

Siyasat wrote on January 28 that deputy commander of United Arab Emirate and crown prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed Bin Zayed al Nahyan is visiting India. This has brought India and UAE even more close to each other. Indian people working in Arabic nations remit huge amount of money to India. This replenishes Indian foreign currency deposit. Last year India got 36 billion dollars from these countries and 38 per cent of the total amount remitted is from United Arab Emirate. Saudi Arabia is on number two from where 28 per cent of the total remittance accounted for. From the very beginning, the Congress gave importance to relations with Arabic nations. Foreign policy of Pt J L Nehru was based on the friendship with Arabic nations. But during the P V Narsimha Rao regime, relationship with Israel was given more importance due to this Pakistan made its prominence in Arabic world. As far as India and Israel are concerned both the countries have trade relations worth $ 5 billion even today while it is $59 billion between India and UAE. It is expected that by the year 2050 there would be 60 per cent increase in the trade between both the countries. India must remember that it buys arms and ammunition from Israel for which it would have to pay heavy price while there are 25 lakh Indians working in UAE. Image of Modi has been anti-Muslim so far but after becoming Prime Minister he paid special attention towards improving relations with Arabic world. This was the reason that Narendra Modi was given King Aziz Award. A new era was started with the visit of crown prince to India as chief gust on the occasion of Republic Day of the nation. Indians are dominating many industries in UAE. It is hoped that a new era of friendship between both the countries would start and UAE would openly support India in United Nations. At present, around 60,000 Indian companies are working in UAE. India gained independence in 1947 while UAE was constituted in 1971 as earlier this region was with Britain. Indians started going there from 1970 and UAE Embassy was set up in New Delhi in 1972. Father of the present ruler Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayad visited India in 1975 and in response to his gesture Indian President Fakhruddin Ali visited the country in 1976 to give a new life in the relationship of both the countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Qatar and UAE in 2015. The government of Abu Dhabi allotted a land for building a temple there. Both the countries had signed 14 pacts with each other. It is hoped that UAE would invest $75 billion in India which would strengthen relations between both the countries.

Death sentence to 13 thousand people

According to Sahafat (February 8), Amnesty International informed that 13 thousand people were hanged secretly in a jail in Syria. Most of the people hanged were commoners. According to the Amnesty International report, from September 2011 to December 2015 in Sednaya Prison every week mass hanging was performed. This report was based on interview of 84 people that included former protector of the jail and other workers. According to the report, sometime once and sometimes twice in a week 20 to 50 people are hanged together. The report also claimed that arrested people are produced before the Army court before hanging which used to sentence them hanging in three minutes. A former judge of this Army court said that if they are culprits and whatever their answer was, they were given death sentence. They are tortured before hanged. They were taken to a room where they were hanged in a noose. After that dead bodies were transported through trucks to burry at secret places. As per the report, 13000 people were hanged in five years.

III

39 thousand Pakistani deported

According to Inquilab (February 9), the Saudi Arabia government deported more than 39 thousand Pakistani citizens from the country in the past four months. As per the government gazette report, they were alleged to have violated residential and work permit law. Some of the Pakistanies were found to be linked to terrorist organisations. They were also found to be involved in drug trade, theft and forgery. So the government is minutely investigating the matters of Pakistani people. As per security officials, around 82 Pakistani citizens are in custody of intelligence agencies for having terror links and they included some women as well.

IV

400 jihadies arrested in Turkey

According to Munsif (February 6), Turkey unleashed a nation-wide campaign against Islamic terrorists in the country under which over 400 terrorists have been arrested so far. They are linked to Islamic Jihadi organisation ISIS. Most of the arrested people are of the foreign origin. Around 60 people were arrested in the capital city Ankara while 150 arrests were made close to the area bordering Syria. This is to recall that jihadi organisation ISIS is very active in Turkey from the past two years. This year only, a youth indiscriminately fired at a night club killing 39 people. As per the government source, 30 terrorists have been arrested from the Konya region while 9 terrorists were arrested from Adman region. Besides these arrests, around 800 people

have been arrested for having contact with Islamic jihadi organisation that included 500 people of foreign origin. Intelligence agencies are investigating the matter of arrested people. The police claimed that the arrested people were planning to start violence in Turkey. This is to recall that there were over a dozen of violent act by the Islamic terrorists in which hundreds of people were killed.

V

Person attempting to commit suicide in Kaba arrested

According to Munsif (February 8), security personals have arrested a person attempting to commit suicide in Kaba. According to the police, the person appears to be mentally sick and he tried to set himself on fire after sprinkling petrol. The arrested person is 40-year-old. It is said that when the person entered Kaba and sprinkling petrol over his body, security personal arrested him. The newspaper published this news report very prominently and published two pictures in which the person was in the custody of security personal.

VI

Azan banned in Israel

According to Roznama Rashtriya Sahara (February 14), the committee that makes law in Israel approved the law banning Azan from the mosque. According to the Justice Ministry of Israel, the sub-committee of the ministry confirmed this law in which provisions have been made that inside Israel Muslims would not be allowed to call Azan before Namaz. Israel argued that due to Azan call from the loudspeakers noise pollution is caused. Now the bill will be placed before Israeli Parliament and if this is approved by the Parliament Muslims would not be allowed call Azan by loudspeakers. This is to recall that earlier also a framework of this law was made in which it was said that siren used on Friday for calling Jews for prayers after Sun set was discontinued so the use of loudspeakers for Azam must also discontinued.

According to Dainik Inquilab (February 14), Islamic Cooperation Council opposed Israel’s decision of banning use of loudspeakers for Azan and said that this was against the Islamic norms which allows people across the world to live life as per their faith. General Secretary of the organization appealed to the nation of the world that they must put pressure on Israel not to make such law. According to the information centre of Israel, Islamic organisation called Hamas alleged that it wants to finish the identity of Islam.

Controversy over US banning entry of citizens of Islamic countries

According to Siyasat (February 10), the decision of the newly elected president of the US Donald Trump’s decision of banning citizen of seven Islamic countries was however stayed by the court but the controversy had failed to die down. President Trump said that he took this decision after taking into the account of the security of Americans and he has the constitutional right to impose such bans. President said that the court took such decision under political pressure. Leaders from Democratic Party and Republican Party commented on the statement of the President saying that such comments would put freedom of judiciary in danger. Is the American President want to influence judiciary of the country? According to another news report attributing media secretary of Trump, the US is in real danger due to Islamic radicals therefore the US President took such decision for the safety of its citizens. He said that when would the real threat come before the citizens of the country was not known but looking at the potent danged the US president took such decision for the safety of its citizens. According to another news report, principal of a school in New York said that Trump presidency was more troublesome that the terrorist attack in the US.

Every Urdu newspaper published this news report very prominently. Inquilab on February 6 published this news report prominently in four column and also published picture of demonstrators. Several headlines have been given for this news report. One of the headlines say: The matter of banning of citizens of seven Muslim countries. Second setback to trump by the court in two days; appeal to restore the Trumps order of banning entry of people from seven Islamic countries rejected; Now refugees will be allowed in the US.

Roznama Rashtriya Sahara on February 6 had the headline – Setback to Trump from the court once again. Appeal rejected of banning people from the seven countries.

According to Inquilab (January 31), demonstration took place in several places of the world on the ban imposed by Donald Trump on seven Islamic countries. US Attorney General also opposed this decision of Trump for what he was removed from his post. Home Minister of Pakistan Choudhary Nisar Ali Khan said that the US decision of banning people of 7 Muslim countries entering into us will rather give a new lease of life to terrorism while home minister of Saudi Arabia supported the decision of the US president by saying that every country can take any decision to defend itself. He said that the way terrorism was increasing the decision taken by the US cannot be termed as wrong.

According to Hamara Samaj (January 31), Marxist MLA of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami took up the matter of the US banning citizens of 7 Muslim countries in the state Assembly. Chief of Jamate Islami Maulana Umri also criticized this decision and called it anti-Islamic. President of Popular Front of India Abu Baqar termed this decision as authoritarian and said that decision was taken under communal influence. He appealed to the Muslim community across the world that they must oppose this decision.

According to Dainik Hindustan Express (January 31), Muslims demonstrated at several places against this decision of the US President.

Roznama Rashtriya Sahara on January 31 criticised the attack on a mosque in Canada in its editorial. The newspaper said that the campaign unleashed by the US President should be responded by the world properly. Donald Trump became President by generating environment against Muslims in the US. After the disintegration of Soviet Union, the US started considering Muslims their biggest enemy and he started realizing that if Muslims are allowed to emerge then they will be the biggest challenge. He has problem with Islamic civilization and with religious faith. He feels the way Islam is growing; it is difficult to challenge it so better defame it. The biggest objective of defaming Islam is to keep younger generation away from Islam. In this situation, it is important for Muslims that Islam is presented properly to the world so Islam is propagated across the world and more and more people accept Islam. It is religious duty of every Muslim.

Dawat mouthpiece of Jamate Islami in its editorial on January 28 expressed astonishment to the fact that announcement made by US President Donald Trump to finish radical Islam was not paid attention by international media while Indian media liked it too much. The same newspaper published a write up by Dr Salim Khan in which it was argued that like Narendra Modi, the US president is also adopting anti-Muslim policy. During the election campaign of the US president poison was spitted against Muslims and Mexican refugees and he was benefited by it also. There is one difference between the election campaigns of Donald Trump and Narendra Modi that Modi talked about fake slogan of Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas instead of anti-Muslim campaign, which after coming to power was changed to Dhanwano Ka Sath Aur Unka Visas. This is the reason poor people of India are decimated. Contrary to it Donald Trump had brought in the slogan of native and outsiders and opened a front against Islam in the guise of fight against terrorism.

Hindustan Express in its editorial on February 3 claimed that Indian interest got a serious setback due to Donald Trump coming to power. He adopted a tough policy on job visa after banning entry of people from the seven Islamic countries. These visas include H1B visa and L1 visa which is used by IT experts. This decision of the US administration will impact Indian IT companies. However, it is difficult to assess its impact but share of Indian IT companies fallen flat. Indians will find it difficult to get the job while US citizens have easy going. The most

important thing is that participation of Indian companies in H1B visa was 86 per cent. The US gives visa to 65 thousand people every year and out of that 65 per cent are Indians. Once this bill is passed the salary of US experts will increase.

Dainik Inquilab claimed on February 1 that 10 lakh British signed a letter to stop visit of the US president to the country. It is said in the petition that if Donald Trump visits Britain, the British people will have to face humiliation. So Trump should not be allowed for official visit of Britain. The same newspaper published another news report in which it was said that Iraqi Parliament passed a law banning American citizens to Iraq. Another news report claimed that diplomats opposing the US president’s decision of banning citizens of seven countries were threatened to lose their job if they did not follow the instructions of the US President.

Munsif in its editorial on February 6 criticised the US President by saying that he was behaving foolishly. The newspaper expressed satisfaction that he decision was stayed. The newspaper expressed amazement to the fact that the US President was even targeting judiciary as well. Demonstration against this decision of the President was taking place across the country. Due to reckless behaviors of Trump, the relation of the US with Russia, Iran, China, Korea and Australia have become tense. The newspaper warned that there might be revolt due to the current policies of the US President. The same newspaper claimed in another write up that there is unrest in the US Army over the war threat by China, Iran and Korea and to save the world from Third World War officials of the US Army might revolt against the US Presidents on the lines of diplomats.

Siyasat on February 9 wrote criticizing the new President that Donald Trump was forcing the world towards third world war. Iraq said that Barak Obama tried to avoid third world war but Trump’s policies were exactly opposite. The way some selected Muslim countries are targeted by the US President that would definitely encourage terrorism in the world. The newspaper claimed that due its new President, the anti-Muslim face of the US was exposed.

Action against Americans

According to Roznama Rashtriya Sahara (January 30), Iran banned entry of the US citizens in its country in response to US President Donald Trump’s decision of banning entry of citizens from the seven Islamic country. External Affairs ministry of Iran said that the ban on American to continue until ban against seven Islamic countries was lifted. This is to recall that the US president banned seven Islamic countries that included Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Yemen and Somalia. As per the presidential, refugees from these countries will not be welcomed in the US for the next four months while no time frame was given for the refugees from Syria. Citizens of these seven countries who are even having Green Cards have been asked to contact US

Embassies to enter the US once again. The US government said that this step was taken to save the country from the terrorist attack. Prime minister of Britain criticized the US decision but added that the US being a sovereign nation is free to decide policies for its welfare. Prime Minister of Canada made it clear that it was not going t put any ban on the foreigners coming to Canada.

According to Munsif (January 28), famous Iranian film star Taraneh Alidoosti announced to boycott Oscar Film Award to protest the decision of the US President Donald Trump imposing ban on citizens of seven Islamic nations. This 33-year-old Iranian film actress said that she would not participate in this programme to protest the US President’s decision of banning entry of citizens of seven countries

According to Inquilab (February 2), the richest Arabian nation Kuwait imposed ban on five Islamic nations. Informed sources said that all embassies have been instructed that citizens of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan should not be given business or tourist visa. Muslim citizens of these Islamic nations must not be allowed to enter Kuwait. Embassies have been given instructions that visa applications from these countries must not be accepted. According to the government sources, the decision was taken to stop terror attacks. The moment security arrangements of these countries are well in place Kuwait would reconsider its decision. The government sources informed that jihadi activities are increasing very fast in Pakistan and Afghanistan while civil war in Syria-Iraq is continuing. Tension in is Iran continuing. According to the local media, the Kuwait government imposed this ban because activities of Al Qaida and ISIS were increasing in these countries. Terrorist activities increased in Kuwait in recent times. A Shia mosque was attacked in 2015 in which 27 people were killed. Hundreds of supporters of the ISIS were arrested after this attack. Earlier in 2011 Kuwait banned giving visa to people of Syria. The country recently passed some stringent laws on entry of foreign citizens to Kuwait. Interesting thing was that Gulf Cooperation Council and several Arabian nations criticized the US President’s decision of banning entry of Muslims in the US but kept silent on the ban imposed by Kuwait.

Fire opened at a mosque in Canada

According to Inquilab (January 31), three namajies were killed when a mosque in the Qubic city of Canada was attacked by gun fire. As per eye witness over 40 people were offering namaj in the mosque when three armed people entered the mosque and started indiscriminate firing in which six people got killed. The police arrested two suspected people. According to another news report, some people set the main mosque of the Huston city on fire in the US. As per the news report, Muslims of Huston made an appeal online to contribute for building this mosque

and due to this $6 lakh were collected within 24 hours. The Canadian government announced that tough measures are taken for the security of Muslims in Canada. Newspapers claimed that hatred against Muslims across the country increased after the new President of the US took the office. Environment against Muslims is getting radical by the day.

Dainik Inquilab in its editorial on January 31 issue criticized attack on mosques by saying that ever since Islamic terrorism started in western countries, environment is becoming anti-Islamic. Recently a mosque in Zurich was attacked and several namajies were killed. Head of a pig was found outside a mosque in the Quebec City of Canada and now namajies are attacked in mosque. The newspaper criticized to the fact that jihadi recite verses of Quran while attacking and call these attack service to Islam. The question was that who was making arms and ammunition available to these Muslims terrorists and who is providing them explosives. Muslims know that who is giving arm training to jihadi terrorist organizations like Taliban and ISIS. Every Muslim also knows the fact that why the first target of Islamic terrorism is Muslim only. But misery of Muslims is not visible to the western world. When killers of Muslims do such acts people of the Western country make Muslims living their nearby as their hate target. Prime Minister of Canada announced that doors of his country are open for Muslims immediately after US President announced banning entry of citizens of seven Muslim countries to the US. But before it could reach to ears of many people blood bath was played in Canada at a mosque killing namajies.

Bangladesh in the grip of radical Islam

Dawat on February 4 published a news report on the front page of the newspaper as editorial attributing a report of New York Times that Bangladesh was moving towards Islamic terrorism. According to this report, the government removed 17 poems from the text book of Bangla language which as per maulvies were against Islam. Besides that Islamic symbols are being used to understand alphabets in the books of the primary schools. The number of burkha-clad women has been increasing in the country and the number of madarsa was also increasing in the country. The newspaper criticized to the fact that the US was deliberately defaming Islam and targeting hijab, naqab, madarsa and Islamic teachings. Dawat claimed that Bangladesh has been den of Islam from the very beginning and even after separating from Pakistan there was no love lost for Islam in Bangladesh. Party of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was always pro-Islam. When Sheikh Mujibur Rahman took oath as President of the country it was started with the recitation of verse of Quran on which several Indian newspapers expressed astonishment over it? Official religion of Bangladesh is Islam. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed regularly offer namaj and keep Roja. If education department is doing reform, no one has the right to criticize it. Islam does not harm anyone rather it makes people a good citizen.

Number of children being killed by terrorist increased

According to Hindustan Express (February 7), as per a report by United Nations the number of people killed by terrorists increased. Around 24 per cent more children have been killed in comparison to last year while killings of other also heavily increased. United Nations released an annual data regarding Afghanistan as per the report 11400 Afghan citizens were killed last year. Out of these 61 per cent were killed by the anti-government Taliban while 24 per cent were killed by the Army. This number is 46 per cent more than the 2015 data. People killed in the war were not mentioned while discussing five per cent death by saying that they were killed in mine blasts done in the past. In 2016 around 923 children were killed and 2589 got injured and this was highest number of children killed in a single year. Reason for these deaths was bomb blasts, suicide bombs and armed attacks. It is said in the report Taliban and the government forces are fighting at several places. During this time aerial attacks by the international forces many people got killed. According to the report, there was 10 fold increase in ISIS attack in which 200 citizens got killed and 690 got injured while attacks during 2015 by this organisation killed 39 people injuring 43. ISIS generally targets Shia and as per UNO data since 2009 in these skirmishes 25 thousands Afghans were killed injuring 45 thousand.

Barelvi sect took to the gun in Pakistan

According to Nai Duniya (February 13), Muslims belonging t Barelvi sects are shouting slogans across the country – Jawania Lutayenge, Masjid Bachayenge, Paigamber ki Ninda Ki Ek Saja, Sir Tan Se Juda. People shouting these slogans are those people claimed to be inspired from Sufi sect and claim to be peaceful. Now the question is that why Barelvies are getting violent on the lines of Wahabies. This is really a very dangerous trend for Pakistan. Russia caused a new problem by capturing Afghanistan while the US took cold war ahead by starting the war through Pakistan. It has been reported in media quite widely those terrorist gangs were getting economic and moral support from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar. The US supplied arms and ammunitions to these groups to address its economic interest while policies of Zia ul Haq encouraged it. Barelvi sect in Pakistan claimed that over 45 thousand Sunni, Sufi and Barelvi Muslims are subject to violence. In May 2001, Salim Qadri was killed in the Karachi city of Sindh. In March 2005, Pir Rakhil Shah Mausoleum was attacked by suicide bomb to blow it up while this year a suicide bomber blew him up at the Peer Rakhil Shah mausoleum in Baluchistan killing 36 sufies. Mausoleum of Bade Imam Sarkar in Islamabad was attacked by a suicide bomber in 2005. Next year in 2006, Mausoleum of Haji Shah Tanjai in Baluchistan was attacked. Hundreds of people were killed in the blst during

Milad ul Nabi procession. Abdul Shakoor Malangbaba’s mausoleum in Khaibar Agency was attacked and it was completely destroyed in 2007. In December 2008, a police officer Peer Samiullah was killed in Swat. In 2008, attempt was made to blew up 400 year old mausoleum of Hajrat Abu Sayeed in Khaiber Agency and several people got killed in encounter with security personal. In March 2009, mausoleum of famous Sufi poet Hajrat Abdul Rahman close to Peshwar was demolished. Seven mausoleums were attacked and destroyed by explosives in 2010. A mausoleum was attacked in Khaiber Agency in April 2010 in which 10 people got killed and 20 got injured. Three blasts at famous Sufi saint Data Ganj Baksh in July 2010 killed over 50 people injuring over 200 people. The same year in October, another mausoleum of Abdullah Shah Ghazia was attacked in which 20 people got killed while 50 got injured. In October 2010, Sufi Baba Faridganj Shakhar’s mausoleum was attacked at Pakpattan of Punjab in which 5 people got killed injuring 25 people. Blast of Peer Ghazi in Punjab killed 35 people. Blast at Akhwanul Sharief injured 20 people in 2011. Another blast in district Ghazi Khan in April 2011 killed 42 people injuring over 100 people. In January 2014, five faithful were killed near Mauseleum Shah Bukhariof Karachi and threats were issued that anyone going to Sufi mausoleum will be killed. Barelvi Muslims took to guns looking at the terrorist attack. Leaders of the sect announced that they would sacrifice their lives to save their mosques and mausoleums. There is no denying the fact that terrorism is escalating among different sects. Barelvies started getting united in 1960 and started a campaign to save mosque. The aim of these leaders was to save mosque from capturing by Tablighi Jamaat. The way terrorist outfits are mushrooming in Pakistan that is a real threat to Pakistan.

Madarsa in Pakistan sealed

According to Roznama Rashtriya Sahara (February 7), A Jamiat Ulama madarsa in Charsadda district in Peshawar was sealed after arrest of suspected terrorists from there. SSP Charsadda Sohail Khan said that action was taken against three madarsa on the instruction of the state government. Name of these madarsa is Tamil al Quran. It was raided by the intelligence officials twice and both the times suspected terrorists were arrested from there. Actually license of madarsa has not been renewed. There were around 400 students in this madarsa which was set up around 19 years ago. Students had gone to their homes after the madarsa was sealed. As per government reports, 10 more madarsa were raided and several suspects were arrested from there but none of them were sealed. Manager of this madarsa Mufti Gauhar Ali Shah alleged that his madarsa was sealed under pressure so he could be kept away from the forthcoming election in Pakistan. He accepted that some suspected terrorists were arrested from his madarsa.

Tarek Fatah and Taslima Nasrin in the line of fire of radicals

Muslims are unable to get out of the grip of the radicals therefore they started targeting liberal Muslim like Tarek Fatah and Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin. A programme called ‘Fateh Ka Katwa’ started on Zee News and Taslima Nasrin’s participation in Jaipur Literary Festival was not at all liked by radicals and campaign was started against them. Innocent Muslim people are being instigated that they must put pressure on the government to hand over Tarek Fatek to Pakistan and deport Taslima Nasrin to Bangladesh so they could be prosecuted for defaming Islam.

Dainik Siyasat on January 24 published a news report on the front page criticizing exiled author Taslima tried for participating in Jaipur Literary Festival. The newspaper said that several Muslim organizations opposed Taslima Nasrin participating in this festival and organized demonstration against her. The newspaper reported that in the published programme Taslima Nasrin was not participating in it but suddenly organizers brought her in. She talked about condition of minority in Bangladesh in one of her novels which had infuriated radicals in Bangladesh and they issued fatwa to kill her forcing her to flee the country. She also criticized West Bengal which forces her leave the state under pressure from radicals. She said that authors were not safe in this secular country. She said that secularists took action against them just to get votes of Muslims. Demonstration was organized against Taslima Nasrin by Rajasthan Muslim Forum, All India Muslim Council, Jamate Islami and Muslim Personal law Boared and requested organizers of the programme that she should not be invited in the programme in future.

According to b (February 4), radicals Islamic organization Jamate Islami has intensified propaganda against Taslima Nasrin. Author Masoom Mooradabadi alleged by putting a curtain on activities of Jihadi ulama of Bangladesh Taslima Nasrin tried to instigate communal forces against Muslims. This author ridicules democracy and secularism of the country and criticizes the government but the government is pampering her. This ill-famous woman reached the programme without pre schedule and spitted venom against Muslims. This woman said that Muslims radicals are not punished due to their vote bank. She targeted Muslim Personal Law in her speech and emphasized the fact that for the protection of Muslim women in India Uniform Civil Code is very important. According to the author, Taslima is angry with

Muslims of the country because they did not accept enemy-women of Islam. Due to the soft approach of Muslims, this ill-famous woman is instigating mischievous elements of the country against Muslims. Strange thing is that name of Taslima Nasrin participating in the event was not mentioned anywhere in the website of Jaipur Literary Festival. This controversial author also said that Muslim might not want Uniform Civil Code but it is very important for Muslim women in India. She said that when she criticized Islam then radical Muslims want to kill her, this intolerance in not in any religion. Taslima Nasrin also targeted West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee by saying that such people who wanted to kill me were friends of Mamata Banerjee. In such a situation claiming secularism is absolutely false. Whichever the government might but the politics is of vote bank only. Secularism is being talked about but governments are not secular. Hindu women are given equal rights but why not Muslim women given the same equal rights. Why secular authors are given threat to life? Muslims opposed Taslima because she targeted Muslims and Islam. The author said that Muslims are maximum targeted in this country and they are punished for the crime they never committed. Lives of Muslim youths are destroyed in the name of terrorism.Innocent people are targeted because they are Muslims. The truth is that this ill-famous woman is instigating Muslim women. The author demanded from the government of India that enemies of Islam like Taslima Nasrin and Tarek Fatah must be deported from the country and must be handed over to Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively. So they are punished for their crime by the government. The author condemned the government by saying that it is pampering these two enemies of Islam to trouble them.

According to Sahafat (January 14), Majlish Ulama instructed Muslim religious teachers not to participate in the programme made by Zee News Fatah ka Fatwa to defame Muslims because he is not a Muslim but he is an agent of Jews in this programme.

Inquilab in its editorial on February 8 targeted Tarek Fatah by saying that he spoke in a five-star hotel in Delhi in a seminar and heard him speaking. He talked about Muslims and Islam all unreasonable and baseless things which were laughable. This person has shallow information about Muslims and Islam. After the seminar he was suggested to learn more about advent and expansion of Islam min India before making any opinion. So it was requested to him that instead of talking about emperors and Kings as Islam, you must tell about such Muslims who reached here before these emperors reached India. Why don’t you tell that the first mosque was built by Malik bin Daniyar five years after the death of Prophet who did not come to India with any army rather came here in 628 Ad with some of his accomplishes. Next year he built a mosque on a land given by king of Malabar Chiranand Perumal that still exists. He was told that why he alleges Indian Muslims of showing allegiance with Pakistan while hundreds of Muslims laid down their lives for the safety of this country. But he did not answer any query and instead asked people to come to his room and there he would talk. It was clear that people were unable

to meet him in his hotel room and he did not have any answer either. Now once again we are forced to watch him. This time round he has become expert of Islam in a programme called Fateh Ka Fatwa on Zee News. The editor wrote that he would not have watched this programme as he did not watch any programme of Zee News but my friends forced me to watch Zee News to know about the ignorance of Tarek Fatah on Islam. But I knew what he would say and I watched the programme. I did not get angry as the person who was trying to understand Quran by reading RSS literature would talk like that only. I can say with full conviction that whatever was happening was happening with the approval of Tarek Fatah because he wanted to prove his viewers that Muslims don’t have answers for these questions. Was the mausoleum named after Hajrat Binnat Ali the daughter of Hajrat Ali built by any emperor? Was not Hajrat Gareeb Nawaz living in Ajmer before the advent of Mohammad Ghori? How Imam Mehshin mausoleum in Patiala was built in 9th century? However Muslims Army entered India in 12th century. I want to say the last world to you that there was no need to be angry and sad. You must not forget that if Salman Rashdie and Taslima Nasrin could not harm Islam, what Tarek Fatah would be able to do?

Imam in trouble for commenting on prophet

According to Siyasat (February 10), Telengana Waqf Board suspended managing president of Masjid Azizia Mehandipattan Samiti Aizaj Moinuddin Wasi for his controversial speech in a mosque against prophet of Islam. He was also banned to speak in the premises of any mosque. Chief executive officer of the waqf board Mohammad Asadullah issued an order in this regard. Waqf Board sought opinion from the religious experts on the controversial speech of president of management committee and imam of the mosque delivered on January 27. Once their view is received the next action will be decided. This is to recall that complain regarding their controversial speech was made to waqf board along with the CD. Waqf Board sought report in this regard with the concerned official. These officials in their reports said that some part of the speech had hurt the sentiment of Muslims therefore they must be suspended from the post. On the other hand imam of the mosque Moiniuddin Wasim apologized for his comment in the office of Jamate Islami. He clarified that he has deep faith in Prophet if his words had hurt anyone’s sentiment he apologizes. He clarified that to make new generation understand he used some words of English. He did not know the correct meaning of these words. It is said that when he was going to apologize and clear his stand some youths attacked him but he was saved by the police.

Why to save Pakistani intelligence agency

Weekly Jadeed Markaz on January 29 published a report in which it was claimed that since Narendra Modi government failed to run the railways efficiently this was the reason that five accidents took place in two months in which over 200 people got killed and thousand got injured. The government started using intelligence agencies by saying hands of ISIS in these accidents to hide their failure. The newspaper also claimed that rumor spread by the police on the statement of Moti Paswan of Motihari has started saying that police forced him to make such statement by torture. The government is playing a dangerous game by holding ISI responsible for it as it would not further dampen relations between India and Pakistan but cause communal tension in the country. The newspaper said that Suresh Prabhu should not only be terminated from the ministry but also prosecuted. The newspaper claimed that rail fare was heavily increased after Modi government came to power in 2014 still it failed to provide security to the people. In order to cover up its weakness Modi and Prabhu played a trick and discontinued Rail Budget so no one was able to know about the deteriorating condition of Railways. Union Home ministry said that involvement of ISI in the rail accident at Kanpur was alarming and there was a need for detailed investigation in this regard. Claim made by the intelligence agencies on the statement of such people are actually they are changing their statements. Moti Paswan in his recent statement claimed that he was not involved in the rail accident in Kanpur. He had never been to Kanpur therefore the question of blowing up the railway line does not arise. The question is that if the Railways are telling these things to hide its mistakes.

This woman reached Riyad with her three children in May 2015. Her husband confined them in a room and they were not given even food and water. Their lives are in danger. When trainees of the Uttar Pradesh government recently tried to enter into it they were stopped. In charge of the police station Chamak Singh Chawala said that trainees of women CO wanted to see mosque but managers did not allow entering into the mosque.
