Antón García-Abril (Madrid, 1969) es Doctor Arquitecto por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSAM-UPM) y Catedrático en la Escuela de Arquitectura del Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts (MIT) desde 2012. Reci-bió el Premio de Roma en 1996 y fundó EnsambleStudio en el año 2000, un equipo multidisciplinar que dirige junto con su socia Débora Mesa. Su trabajo equilibra imaginación y realidad, arte y ciencia, e innova tipologías, tecnologías y metodologías para abordar cuestiones tan diversas como la construcción delpaisaje o la prefabricación de la casa. El estudio ha completado obras como la sede de la SGAE en Santiago de Compostela, la Casa Hemeroscopium en Las Rozas, la Casa del Lector en Matadero Madrid, las Estructuras de Paisaje en el Tippet Rise Art Center de Montanay C’an Terra en Menorca. Por su contribución simul-tánea a la teoría y la práctica de la arquitectura han recibido el Premio RIBA Charles Jencks 2019.

Antón García-Abril (Madrid, 1969) is European PhD Architect by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ET-SAM-UPM), Registered Architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and Professor at the School of Archi-tecture and Planning of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) since 2012. He received the Spanish Academy Research Prize in Rome in 1996, and in 2000 established Ensamble Studio, a cross-functional team that he leads with his partner Débora Mesa. Balancing imagination and reality, art and science, their work innovates typologies, technologies, and methodologies to address issues as diverse as the construction of the landscape or the prefabrication of the house. The studio has completed works like the SGAE Headquartersin Santiago de Compstela, Hemeroscopium House in Madrid, Structures of Landscape in Tippet Rise Art Center in Montana, and Ca’n Terra House in Menorca. Their contribution to the theory and practice of architec-ture has made them recipients of the 2019 RIBA Charles Jencks Award.

Benedetta Tagliabue (Milán, 1963) es directora del estudio Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, fundado en 1994 en colaboración con Enric Miralles. Entre sus proyectos se encuentran el Parlamento de Edimburgo, el mer-cado de Santa Caterina en Barcelona, y el Pabellón de España en la Exposición Universal de Shanghái 2010, galardonado con el premio del RIBA al mejor edificio internacional. Su estudio trabaja en los campos de la arquitectura, diseño de espacios públicos, rehabilita-ción, interiorismo y diseño industrial, proponiendo una arquitectura poética, siempre atenta a su contexto.Tagliabue ha sido profesora visitante en Harvard, Columbia y la ETSAB de Barcelona, y forma parte de jurados como el de los premios Princesa de Asturias y el del Pritzker. En 2013 obtuvo el premio RIBA Charles Jencks, y en mayo de 2019 recibió la Cruz de Sant Jordi otorgada por la Generalitat de Cataluña. También es directora de la Fundación Enric Miralles, cuyo objetivo es promover la arquitectura experimental en el espíritu de su difunto esposo y socio Enric Miralles.

Benedetta Tagliabue (Milán, 1963) directs the firm Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, founded in 1994 in collabo-ration with Enric Miralles. The list of notable works includes the Edinburgh Parliament, the Santa Cate-rina Market in Barcelona, and the Spanish Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, recipient of the RIBA International Award. Her studio works in the fields of architecture, design of public spaces, rehabilitation, interior and industrial design, with a poetic architectu-re always attentive to its context. Tagliabue has been a visiting professor at Harvard, Columbia, and Barcelona ETSAB, and is member of international juries including those of the Princesa de Asturias Awards and the Prit-zker Prize. In 2013 she received the 2013 RIBA Charles Jencks Award, and in May 2019 she was distinguished with the Creu de Sant Jordi bestowed by the Genera-litat of Catalonia. She is also the director of the Enric Miralles Foundation, whose goal is to promote expe-rimental architecture in the spirit of her late husband and partner Enric Miralles.

Bjarke Ingels (Copenhague, 1974) creó BIG en 2005 tras cofundar PLOT Architects en 2001 y trabajar con OMA en Rotterdam. Por el carácter programático y técnicamen-te innovador de sus edificios, al tiempo que atento a los recursos disponibles, se ha convertido en protagonista de un enfoque hedonista sostenible de la arquitectura que combina aspectos ambientales y sociales. Ingels ha recibido numerosas distinciones, como el Danish Crown Prince’s Culture Prize en 2011, el León de Oro de la Bienal de Venecia en 2004, y el Premio ULI a la Excelen-cia en 2009. En 2011 el periódico Wall Street Journal le nombró arquitecto innovador del año, y en 2016 aparece en la lista de la revista Time de las 100 personas más influyentes del mundo. Ha compaginado su actividad profesional con la académica en universidades comoHarvard, Yale, Columbia y Rice, y es profesor honorario en la Royal Academy of Arts, School of Architecture en Copenhague.

Fabrizio Barozzi (Rovereto, 1976) y Alberto Veiga (San-tiago de Compostela, 1973) fundaron Barozzi/Veiga en Barcelona en el año 2004. Desde entonces el estudio ha desarrollado proyectos a nivel internacional con encar-gos públicos y privados, y sus obras han recibido variospremios, entre los que destaca el Premio Mies van der Rohe en 2015 por la Filarmónica de Szczecin en Polonia. El trabajo de Barozzi/Veiga se caracteriza por el propó-sito de alcanzar soluciones enraizadas en el lugar, con un contenido emocional. Entre sus obras destacanla Sede del Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero (2011), el Auditorio de Águilas (2011), la Escuela de Música en Brunico (2018), y el Museo de Bellas Artes de Chur (2018), distinguido con el Premio a la Excelencia Internacional del RIBA.Entre sus proyectos recientes se encuentran el Museo cantonal de Bellas Artes en Lausana(2019) y Tanzhaus Zúrich (2019).

Barozzi/Veiga was founded in Barcelona in 2004 by Fabrizio Barozzi (Rovereto, 1976) and Alberto Veiga (Santiago de Compostela, 1973). The practice has since worked internationally in public and private projects and its work has received several prestigious dis-tinctions, including the Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture in 2015 for the SzczecinPhilharmonic in Poland. Barozzi/Veiga’s work is cha-racterized by the intention to arrive at solutions that are rooted in place, architectures that can be percei-ved over time and that have an emotional content. The studio’s built work includes the Ribera del Duero Headquarters (2011), the Auditorium of Águilas (2011), the Music School in Brunico (2018), and the Fine Art Museum in Chur (2018), awarded with the RIBA Award for International Excellence. The recently completed projects include the Musée cantonal des Beaux-ArtsLausanne (2019) and Tanzhaus Zürich (2019).

Belinda Tato (Madrid, 1971) funda en el año 2000 con José Luis Vallejo el estudio Ecosistema Urbano, espe-cializado en proyectos de innovación urbana, que opera en la intersección entre arquitectura, paisaje, ingeniería y sociología. Su trabajo se ha desarrollado en torno al diseño de espacios públicos centrados en la mejora de las condiciones bioclimáticas en contextos y climas muy diversos. Paralelamente, Ecosistema Urbano ha diseñado herramientas y técnicas participativas para involucrar a los ciudadanos en los procesos creativos y transformadores de los entornos urbanos. El estudio ha recibido premios y reconocimientos en más de 45 ocasiones por parte de organizaciones internacionales (otorgados por UN-Habitat en 3 ocasiones). Tato ha de-sarrollado y dirigido proyectos en países como Noruega, España, Italia, EE. UU., Ecuador, México, Bahrein o Chi-na. Actualmente es Profesora Asociada de Arquitectura del Paisaje en la Graduate School of Design de Harvard, donde imparte clases desde el año 2010.

Belinda Tato (Madrid, 1971) founded Ecosistema Urba-no together with José Luis Vallejo in 2000. The studio specializes in urban innovation projects, operating at the intersection of architecture, landscape, enginee-ring, and sociology. Their work has developed around the design of public spaces focused on improving bio-climatic conditions in extremely diverse contexts and climates. At the same time, Ecosistema Urbano has developed participatory tools and techniques to involve citizens in the creative and transforming processes of urban environments, receiving awards and recogni-tions on more than 45 occasions from numerousinternational organizations (awarded by UN-Habitat on 3 occasions). Tato has led numerous projects in coun-tries such as Norway, Spain, Italy, the United States, Ecuador, Mexico, Bahrain and China, among others. She is currently an Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where she has been teaching since 2010.

Thom Mayne (Waterbury, 1944) fundó Morphosis en 1972 como un colectivo de arquitectura, urbanismo y diseño basado en una investigación rigurosa y en la innovación. Su trabajo abarca una amplia varieded de escalas y tipos, y es reconocido por sus diseños inno-vadores y sostenibles. Mayne ha permanecido activo en el campo académico a lo largo de su carrera. En 1972 ayudó a fundar el Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), y desde entonces ha impartido clases en Columbia, Yale, Harvard, el Berlage, la Bart-lett School of Architecture de Londres, y la UCLA A.UD, donde ha sido profesor entre 1993 y 2019. Mayne es también director del Now Institute (la rama de investi-gación de Morphosis), y en 2015 fundó el Thom Mayne Young Architects Program. Mayne ha recibido, entre otros destacados galardones, el premio Pritzker (2005) y la Medalla de Oro del AIA (2013), y formó parte del Comité Presidencial para las Artes y las Humanidades con el presidente Obama.

Rafael Aranda (1961), Carme Pigem (1962) y Ramon Vilalta (1960) fundaron RCR Arquitectes on Olot (Gerona) en 1988. Desde entonces desarrollan una arquitectura tan radical en su lenguaje como anclada al lugar y com-prometida con la naturaleza, por la que han sido distin-guidos con prestigiosos galardones como la de Medalla de Oro de la Academia de Arquitectura Francesa(2015) y el premio Pritzker (2017). Entre las principales obras del estudio se encuentran algunas tan persona-les y sugerentes como el Parque de Piedra Tosca, la Casa Horizonte, el restaurante Les Cols o las bodegas Bell-lloc, todas ellas en Cataluña —mayoritariamente en la comarca gerundense de La Garrotxa—, y también otras construidas fuera de España, como el Museo Sou-lages y el centro La Cuisine en Francia, o el crematorio de Hofheide y la mediateca de Waalse Krook en Bél-gica. En 2013 crearon la fundación RCR BUNKA, cuyo propósito es estimular socialmente la valoración de la arquitectura y el paisaje, e implícitamente, las artes y la cultura en general.

Rafael Aranda (1961), Carme Pigem (1962), and Ramon Vilalta (1960) founded RCR Arquitectes in Olot (Girona) in 1988. They have worked together since then develo-ping an architecture that is radical in its language yet anchored to its context and committed to nature, and for which they have received prestigious awards like the Gold Medal of the French Académie d’Architecture (2015) and the Pritzker Prize (2017). Their oeuvre in-cludes suggestive and personal works like Pedra Tosca Park, Horizonte House, Les Cols Restaurant, and the Bell-lloc Winery, all in Catalonia – and most of them in the region of La Garrotxa –, and also completions outside Spain, like the Soulages Museum and the cen-ter La Cuisine in France, or the Hofheide Crematorium and Walse Krook Media Library in Belgium. In 2013 they established the RCR Bunka Foundation, which aims to stimulate socially the assessment of architec-ture and landscape, and implicitly, the arts and culture in general.
