Myth and Pemali of Tondeks People

( Structuralisms Claude Levi Strauss analysis )

A. Background

Culture is product of human minds activity and parallel with language

also a product of human mind. Those parallel on language as condition of

culture because those material are same that are relation, opposition and

correlation. The source is human mind therefore the to study antropolgy is to

find model or pattern in understanding mind and humans behaviour in

societies life. Structure is pattern or model designed by antrhopologist to

understand or explain about culture phenomenon or on the other word called

system of relation.

Every ethnics have own culture. oral tradition or oral literature is a kindof culture spread in societis that told by particular societis through one to

another orally. Myth and expression of forbidden (Pemali) were kind of oral

literature which existed in certain people in Indonesia and become their

beliefs concept from their ancestor then must be kept. According to Hutomo,

oral literature is literature which encompassing expression of citizen a certain

life which was dissaminated moved from one to another orally. Oral literature

divided into three parts:

1. Oral verbal story covered, ordinary story, myth, legend, and tale

2. Partly Verbal story covered, folk speech, Proverb, riddles, and poem

3. Performing act covered, drama, stage performance and arena

By this research I just focus on myth as oral verbal story and folk

speech ( Pemali ) as partly verbal story, Myth and folk speech (Pemali) in this

plan of research are culture phenomenon which interesting to conduct a

research activity and those become research problem later on.

B. Research Questions

Based on short explation above, the write formulate several question

such as:

1. How is the structure of myth and Pemali of tondeks people through

structurals levi strauss analysis?

2. Is there any parallel between the structure of myth and Pemali of

tondeks People through Structurals levi strauss analysis?

3. How is the structure of myth and Pemali related to sosial life of

tondeks People?

C. Objective of research

This plan of research was designed:

1. To analyze the structure of myth and pemali of tondeks people

through structurals analysis by claude Levi Strauss

2. to know the parallels structure of myth and pemali of tondeks

people

3. to know how is the structure of myth and Pemali relate to social life

of tondeks People

D. Research Method

This research cunducted in Tondek, Sub-district of Aralle, mamasa

regency is qualitatif research by using structuralisms Claude Levi

Strauss to anlyze the structure of Myth and Pemali and the data source

are informan and oral literature in focusing of myth and Pemali then

the procedures of collecting data are divided into to steps such as

library research and field research (observation, indepth interview, and

recording) beside that the procedures of analysing data use structural

analysis.
