Dear Freshman,

On behalf of the FOC 08/09 organizing committee as well as my Executive Committee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you.

I have always believed that in any place, it is the people that are the most important. They are the ones who define, change and

give any place its own character and soul. I thank you for being the one to give meaning to NPSU’s Freshmen Orientation Camp.

Having attended FOC during my freshmen days, I can safely say that an unforgettable experience is what you will have. In addition to that, the friends you make as well as the other relationships you build will be something that you cannot find at any other place as easily as you would find it here.

Ask any of the helpers during your time at FOC and you will quickly find many who previously have attended FOC during their freshman year. They will also tell you that it was the best time ever. For those who have never attended, they will also tell you that it is perhaps something that they should made the time for.

Despite their differences, whether they have attended FOC, or whether they are studying in another course, everyone who has been for FOC would tell you that they are part of a bigger family, and that everyone in it is welcomed no matter how different they may be.

A long long time ago, in a kingdom far, far away, there lived the father of the kingdom; the all-powerful Lord Jeremy. He bestowed great powers upon the four most-worthy persons in the kingdom and decided to put a house system in place.

Soon after, the kingdom prospered and four houses rose to fame. The four houses are Delta Chi (founded by Syazana), Kappa Tau (founded by Darren), Sigma Phi (founded by Davio) and Zeta Pi (founded by Wilson).

Every year, a leader is elected from each house from amongst itʼs many members. This year, your leaders are Mark for Delta Chi, Hashim for Kappa Tau, Russell for Sigma Phi and Mathiaus for Zeta Pi. And now... you are the chosen ones to be part of these houses.

Throughout these 3 nights, you will be put througha series of challenges to test your physical and mental strengths.The annual competition for the best house involves initiation for your houses on day 1, competing for the best house on day 2 and lastly, war against all the other houses on day 3.

You must do your best to get through these challenges as a team and do your house proud. Throughout these 3 days, you will be scrutinized by the previous leaders of these three houses. They will decide ultimately who will win the war this year.

Let the journey begin.
