Your paper should now have five horizontal

creases. The spaces between each crease should also be uniform.

Fold the top corners down to the crease SECOND from the top.

Fold the bottom corners

up to the crease SECOND from the bottom.

Fold the bottom crease up to meet the crease second from the bottom.

Fold the paper back down along

the bottom crease.

Repeat steps nine to twelve for the other side.

Lift the top and bottom flaps up

so that they stand

upright.

Swivel the flaps to form

other

box.

These form two sides of the “box

inside the box”.

Repeat steps nine to twelve for the other side. Make four vertical folds on either side of the small diagonal creases on the top and bottom flaps. Unfold. You’ll notice both flaps now have

Once both sides are complete, your box should look something like this:

To close your box,

simply fold over the two large flaps on either

side; these will form the

lids for your box.

Keep your box shut by tying it with a

ribbon, using a sticker…

…or simply by sliding one lid

into the other.

You may have noticed three

vertical creases running down the entire length of your box.

To avoid these, in steps two, five and six, instead of folding

the paper all the way across,

simply make a tiny crease in the centre.

Success! Your

origami box in a box is now finished!
