Nokia Siemens Networks’ Flexi Compact Base Station is the industry’s first full scale 3 sector macro base station in one module. It has integrated baseband and transport functionalities with E1/T1 and IP/Ethernet connectivity and a radio frequency module which supports GSM/WCDMA/LTE technologies.

The product is based on Nokia Siemens Networks’ award winning Flexi Base Station platform with lowest power consumption in the industry. The base station is equipped with 3x60W at antenna connector and offers SW scalable capacity from 1 to 18 TRX.

High performance with smallest sizeFlexi Compact Base Station is designed to address the current challenges faced by the operators. It has the highest level of integration, comprising of a single module with three sectors.

Flexi Compact Base Station is small in size (25 L), light weight (25 Kg) and weather proof for outdoor installations (IP 65 compliant). It can fit in any terrain from rural, sub urban to city hotspot locations such as pole, tower top, and side wall without any aircon or shelter.

Flexi Compact Base Station has zero footprint, enabling faster deployment for new rollout, site

expansion and modernization scenarios along with serving the growing coverage and capacity needs of voice and data traffic. Moreover, co siting with Flexi Multiradio System Module helps the base station to ensure easy evolution path for future WCDMA/LTE deployments. It supports all industry leading features and is available in 900, 900J and 1800 MHz frequency band.

Easy installationFlexi Compact Base Station is fully outdoor capable, therefore, it does not require a dedicated base station cabinet. It has a broad operational temperature range and can be used in varied climatic conditions. The installation of the base station can be easily completed by one person. There is no need for plug in unit installation and no inter cabinet or module cabling is needed. Flexi Compact Base Station provides high coverage and capacity for macro cellular applications and the same modules can be used in indoor and outdoor sites for macro as well as micro cellular solutions. Another highlight of the base station is its flexibility to be installed at several sites ranging from indoors, outdoors to wall, stack, pole, mast top and traditional way into cabinet.

Cost Efficient Site SolutionFlexi Compact Base Station minimizes site rental costs as there is no requirement of a base station-specific cabinet. It also reduces the floor space required for large configurations.

Minimal base station power consumption leads to direct savings. In addition, lower power consumption allows the use of smaller power systems with fewer batteries. Reduced need for rectifiers and battery maintenance further contribute to the savings. Typical power consumption for 4+4+4 configuration is in the range of 450W.

New installation options help in installing the base stations at places, which are better protected against vandalism and natural catastrophes. Therefore, less shelter maintenance is required. The base station offers a cost effective site solution for new base station sites, especially in the growing markets. Flexi Compact Base Station will smoothly fit into the existing sites during site modernization and mobile network evolution resulting in lower CAPEX and OPEX.
