3 CONFIGURATION NOTES

3.1. Operating Mode

On the system configuration the Operating Mode define the Link System type. During the “Link WizardConfiguration” is request Select one of the following mode:

•  “Standard” Mode for 1+0 Not protected System

•  “Protect non-diversity” mode for 1+1 Hot Stand By System

•  “Protect diversity” mode for 1+1 Frequency Diversity or Cross Polarization System

•  “East-west” mode for 2+0 System / Ring Configuration System

•  “East-east” mode for 2+0 configuration (available only with the Gigabit Ethernet unit)

• 

NoteThe “ Protect non-diversity”  mode configuration is independent from the number ofantennas used for the terminal station.

3.2. ODUs and Modem Module connection

•  For Standard mode the default Modem Unit, must be connect on the lower  position, identified byEast side

•  For Protection mode the Modem Unit on the lower  position is identified by East side (suggestedto use for main channel) and the modem unit on the upper  position must be identified by West side (suggested to use for protection  channel).

•  For East-West  mode the Modem Unit on the lower  position is identified by East side and themodem unit on the upper  position must be identified by West side
