• What is flashmeeting?

• Why are we talking about it this evening?

Flashmeeting

• What do you need to participate?– Flashmeeting runs from a webpage with a

flash enabled web browser.– A webcam, and a microphone if you wish to

talk.

What can it do?

Flashmeeting

• Advantages?– Those unable to attend in person can

participate – A possible way of recording the session.– Relatively cheap technology– One can ‘chat’ during the session, without

needing to ‘go live’ with the webcam

Flashmeeting

• Disadvantages?– Need a ‘facilitator’ at the event to co-ordinate

attendees and Flashmeeting attendees.– Need to allow enough time for the set-up– Recording only as good as the individual’s

webcam.
