Meet

I am a single working professional but I have so much more to offer than just my professional talents. I have worked in Marketing for about 20 years now. I have a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications and am pursuing an MBA at this time so that I can teach at the college level since I believe teaching is my true calling.

I started out my career with a desire to teach Special Education. I was half-way through the program when I decided to heed my professor’s advice which was that if we were pursuing Special Education because we wanted to work with children, then we would be disappointed since most of our time would be spent doing paperwork and attending meetings.paperwork and attending meetings.

I love helping and serving others. I love children, but haven’t had the opportunity to have my own, so I think being a host home would be a wonderful opportunity. My dog, Ashley, is a Great Dane and registered PTSD Service Dog. She has done wonders for the respite clients I’ve hosted and I am confident she would bring joy to host clients in my home.

I have many interests and hobbies including hiking with my dog, crocheting blankets and scarves for others, pour painting, reading and writing, riding my motorcycle and road bicycle, and traveling, especially to visit my nieces and nephew. I love adventures but I’m a homebody most of the time. nieces and nephew. I love adventures but I’m a homebody most of the time.

I live in a modest 2,500 sq ft home with a main floor and a basement. I would love to have two host clients so they can have a sense of ‘sameness’. I plan for their bedrooms and shared bathroom to be upstairs, across the hall from mine, so I can be readily available to them. Each bedroom is about 10x10’.
