Instructions With 6 mm (US10) needle, loosely cast on 259 stitches.In first row, change to 4.5 mm (US 7) needle.

Row 1 to 38: Work according to chart, dividing stitches as follows:Selvedge stitch, k3, work pattern repeat 14 times in all, k2, selvedge stitch.

Row 39: In this row, short row shaping for the body of the shawl begins.Either use the wrap & turn method* or work German Short Rows 

 with doubled up turning stitch (which does not involve wrapping and turning). **Knit 77 sts, the 78th will be the turning st – wrap 78th then turn (if using wrap & turn)or turn, then pull out double stitch (if using German Short Rows).

Row 40: p10, the 11 th

 will be the turning st, turn.

Row 41: knit to wrapped stitch, pick up the wrap and knit it together with the wrapped stitch(as in k2tog), k1, wrap the 2

nd stitch, turn.

Row 42: purl to wrapped stitch, pick up the wrap and purl it together with the wrapped stitch(as in p2tog), p1, wrap the 2nd stitch, turn.

Row 43: repeat rows 41 and 42 until you have picked up and worked all stitches.

Binding off: RS row – selv st, k2, *yarnover, k2tog *,Repeat between ** to last 2 sts, k1, selv st.WS row – bind off in knit.

Finishing: Soak shawl in lukewarm water  with wool wash for about 20 minutes.

Rinse until water stays clear, roll in towel and press out excess water, block and let dry.
