Firmness after Ramadhan 19th August, 2013

Introduction

We will asses that after Ramadhan who are the winners and who are the

losers. The scholars say that an indication of acceptance of fasting is that

Allah will make it easy to be obidient and do more good deeds. A sign of

rejection is that the slave will find it difficult to obey the commands and

increase in sinning. We ask Allah to accept all deeds done by us in the month

of Ramadhan and make us all among the winners.

Allah warned us against a woman in the Quran. There was a woman in

Makkah who after doing the spinning and making it firm used to untie it all

and start from the beginning. This is the example of foolish woman. The

mufasireen have interpreted that this is like a person who has made the

covenant with Allah and then broke it. This is also the example of a person

who leaves doing the good deeds he or she used to do in the month of

Ramadhan. After ramadhan don’t become the same person what you were

before Ramadhan. Some people become slackened after the month of

Ramadhan because they fail to realise that we are all in a journey to Allah

and we cant rest during this journey. Imam Ahmed ibn hanbad was asked

that when is the rest he replied that when you put first step in Jannah.

Allah is telling in this verse that that only Allah can keep you firm on the

straight path. Allah will keep you firm by keeping you in His worship. If any

temptation comes in your mind then Allah will keep you firm by making you

prefer to obey Allah and reject your desires. Then in the grave Allah will keep

you firm by making you answer the questions correctly and you will say Allah

is my Lord, Prophet Muhammad (Sallalaho Alihi Wassalam) is my messenger

and Islam is my deen. In today’s time of trials and tribulations we all need

firmness on Emaan. Only Allah can keep our hearts firm. By nature our

hearts are always changing. Prophet Muhammad (Sallaho alihi wassalam)

faced many difficulties and trials but Allah kept him firm.

Umme Salamah (Radi Allah Anho) asked Prophet Muhammad (Sallaho alohi

wassalam) that why do u make this dua always

so the Prophet replied that the

heart of son od adam is between the two fingers of Allah. so Allah will guide

and turn our hearts according to what we have in our hearts. We know that

the Prophet (Sallalaho alihiwassalm) warned us about the time when people

who are belivers in the morning are disbelivers in the evening. Who is

controlling their hearts.

There are some people who might apparently be doing the deeds of the people

of paradise but he ends up in the Hell fire and there are people who

seemingly are doing the deeds of hell fire but will end up in Paradise. Only

Allah knows that what is in the hearts. So we need to ask Allah to give us

firmness.

The shaytan will always remind us of our good deeds. Never ever count your

good deeds. Shaytaan will say to you that you have fasted, prayed Qiyam, did

Umrah and gave ur zakaat. Don’t ever rely on your good deeds. In this

situation you should immediately ask Allah for accepting all your good deeds.

This will humiliate the Shaytaan who wants you to become proud and ruin

all your deeds. We need to have hope from Allah to accept all our good deeds.

Allah mercy encompasses everything.

Why do we need to be firm? This is important that the more we are firm in

this world the easier it will be to cross As Siraat on the Day of judgement. As

sirat is formed on the hell fire. Some people will be able to cross it very

quickly while others will cross slowly and some peeople will fall in the hell

fire. May Allah save us. As we obey Allah in this life so it will be easier in the

Here After to cross As Siraat.

When we ask Allah to show us the straight path we are asking three things:

Show us the guidance (Hidaya irshad)

Help us to act upon it. (Hidaya Tawfique)

To keep us firm on it.

We all want to cross this bridge safely without any injury and quickly for that

we need to be firm in this life.

How can we be firm?

Show Allah that you need to be on the right path. Don’t feel self sufficient.

Who kept Prophet Muhammad (Sallalaho Alihi wassalam) firm on the deen?

It was Allah. only Allah can keep us firm on Deen. Ask Allah to keep us firm.

Say that I have no power to be firm only Allah can help me to be firm on

Deen. Ask Allah to make you do Qiyaam as you used to do in Ramadhan. It’s

the most beloved prayer after Fardh. One of the attribute of Ibaad ur rehman

is that they perform the night prayers. If you want to enter paradise

peacefully then perform the night prayers.

Don’t rely on your own self ask Allah to make you perform the night prayers.

There are arabs who know arabic and they have tafseeer with them but they

don’t have the stregth to open it and read it. This strength is only from Allah.

Show Allah that you need to do good deeeds and that you are afraid of being

deprived from doing good deeds. Say .

“There is no might to avoid disobeying Allah except by the

protection of Allah and no strength to obey Allah except with the

help of Allah”

You need to be happy and thankful to have the oppurtunity of getting the

blessed month of Ramadhan. Even if you did not do as much as cou could do

then be happy as the first ten days of zill hajj are coming which are the best

days of the year. So yearn and wait for those days. Praiseworthy rejoicement

is to be happy on getting these blessings from Allah. The good deeds are es

multiplied and the sins are grevious in Allah’s sight so we need to do good

and fear Allah and save ourselves from commiting sins.

Whose Islam is the best?

A believer should be able to shun that which does not concerns him. This is

from the excellence of one’s Emaan that you are able to keep yourself away

from something that is of no concern to you. This Hadeeth is the shortest

expression having a very vast meaning. You have to abandon and leave that

which does not concern you.

If we all act upon this hadeeth then we will save ourselves frm a lot of

distress and sins. You might devieve yourself by saying that I am not

concerned about what other people do. We will see through an example that

almost all of us are doing this in some way or the other. If you go to buy a

sandwich and after you order the sandwhich you think that this man is

earning 5 dirhams on a sandwhich and he must be selling 100 sandwich a

day so he must be earning this much. This is none of your concern so why are

you wasting your time on this?

Those who always want to know about others waste a lot of their time and

they will be questioned on the Day of judgment about this. Excessive

association with people often weakens our faith. You will not be able to

concentrate on your worship if you associate with people a lot. If you have

this problem even in your heart that you want to know about people then you

need to work on this as Allah knows what is in your heart. Show shyness to

Allah of what is in your heart. In this time we get distracted easily so we

need to be very careful on what we feel.

This Quran is a Noor and a light for us. We are in darkness and Quran

guides us from darkness to light. We all ask Allah for guidance in Surah

Fatiha and the answer comes in Surah Baqarah that Quran is the guidance.

These Ayat are about hypocrites. These are major hypocrites who will be in

the lowest part of Hell fire. Whenever they get anynews they will spread it.

According to the verse they should be consulting the Prophet (Sallalaho alihi

wassalam) regarding the news. After the death of Prophet Muhammad

(Sallalho alihi wassalam) we should refer to the Ahadith of Prophet (Sallaho

alihi wassalam). Secondly we can refer the matter to those who are in

authority. If it is something related to Deen then refer to those who have

knowledge of the matter. There are some principles which needs to be

followed when a news come to us.

Verify news whether it is true

Don’t be hasty in spreading the truth

Refer to the messenger (Sallalaho alihi wassalam) and those in

authority.

If you see that there is some benefit in spreading the message then

spread it but if there is no benefit or harm then ignore it

If hypocrites get any news then they add lies to it and make it huge and harm

the believers by spreading the false news they made up.

There are many false or fabricated hadith spread nowadays so if we forward

hadith without verifying then we will bear the sin of all those who further

spread it.

Allah cursed the hypocrite in the Quran which means that it is a major sin.

Sheikh Al Bani was asked by his students that how much should we know

about the world and its news. He said the amount of salt you put in your food.

Even if you know whatever is going on you cannot change it but it will affect

your emaan. As you will waste your time and lose your faith. It will make you

emotional and make you angry by looking at this.So its better to make dua

for them.
