It is possible to install F30 ventilation and shut-off valves in fi reproof metal ceilings.
One must, however, be sure that the ventilation valves are certifi ed for LMD F30-A/AB fi reproof ceilings.
The building supervisory general certifi cates of inspection are issued b the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik in Ber-lin.
What ceiling systems these may be installed in can be taken from the information in this certifi cation.
The components are usually installed in panels prepared by the factory with cut-outs and sheathing.

In case of fi re, an independent fi reproof ceiling F30 from above and below is suffi cient in an essential corridor.
Additional sprinklers are required in rare cases. The ex-tinguishing water produced by the sprinkler system would load the independent fi reproof ceiling additionally, and might cause it to crash. Additional measures have to be taken for such cases.

• General Guidelines Compliance with the following points is a prerequisite for
acceptable installation of Lindner fi reproof ceilings and F30-inspection hatches and so that their functioning and fi re protection can be guaranteed.
- DIN 4102, DIN 18 168-1 and 18 168-2 as well as DIN 18 202 all apply
- Execution of suffi cient ceiling cavity space- Climatic conditions during the installation
Temperature 20 °C ± 5 °C Relative humidity 40 % - 80 %
- The installation must only be carried out by qualifi ed per-sonnel.
- The installation guidelines for the various ceiling types must be taken into account and complied with according to the manufacturer‘s instructions.
- Only tested components with the appropriate classifi ca-tion may be used for the installation.
- Installation must be carried out according to the applica-ble building supervisory general certifi cates of inspec-tion.
• Fastening equipment The following must be taken into account for the fasten-
ings used for connections to walls and the structural ceil-ings:
- Use offi cially certifi ed anchors (both in terms of fi reproof-
ing and load-bearing capacity). Anchors must be set ex-actly according to regulations and/or certifi cation by the anchor manufacturer.
- Take the anchoring material base into account.- Allow for the weight of the ceiling.
• Storage- Do not store ceiling panels outdoors and protect them
against moisture (any moisture trapped by the protective sheeting might result in rust formation!)
- Remove the wrapper at the construction site immediate-ly after the ceiling material is delivered.
- Store with the arrows pointing upwards.
• Miscellaneous instructions:- During transport and installation, some of our metal fi re-
proof ceiling elements and panels are protected against soiling and damage by a self-adhesive protective fi lm. Do not remove this until just before the room is commis-
sioned. This protective fi lm must not come into contact with any solvents (thinner, glue, enamel, etc). Otherwise its ability to be removed may be substantially impaired!
- Standard surfaces are suitable for use with normal re-quirements in indoor areas, such as escape routes in hospitals, etc.
- In cases of special-purpose use, e.g. with solvent va-pours in production areas, approval for use must be ob-tained from the manufacturer.
Instructions for Installation and Use
Installation
How to useTo guarantee acceptable functioning of our ceilings, be sure to comply with the following points:
• Operation:- The suspended ceilings may only be operated by per-
sonnel instructed by the manufacturer.- Follow the user guidelines for the respective ceiling
type.- Two persons are always required to operate the sus-
pended ceiling.
Opening and closing the fi reproof ceilings:- Operation should only be carried out by qualifi ed per-
sonnel who have been instructed accordingly.- Restore the original condition as it was before opening
the ceiling. Important: Fire protection function- Use suitable tools
No alteration to existing ceiling systems may be carried out without prior approval by the manufacturer (such as additional subsequent recessed fi ttings, making lead-through openings for installation lines).
• ReproductionAll the building supervisory general certifi cates of inspec-tion and test certifi cates for these systems are the prop-erty of Lindner AG. It is not allowed to copy the ceiling systems following the certifi cations specifi ed and requires approval by Lindner AG.
• Exclusion of liabilityThese instructions come from experience acquired in ac-tual practice. Any liability by Lindner AG, however, must be excluded.
