The fire testing centre of MPA NRW in Erwitte is anofficial centre for fire tests and has specialised in tes-ting building materials and building components. Itstesting facilities allow the implementation of all stan-dardised fire tests for the classification of buildingmaterials and building components. Furthermore,non-standardized special tests according to specialfire protection issues can also be carried out.

Besides testing facilities according to national stan-dards we also have the equipment and the knowhowfor the application of European standards in thisfield.

The fire protection tests in the fire testing centre areconducted according to highest environmental stan-dards. Flue gases are cleaned in post-combustionfacilities (at 1,200°C), wet scrubber facilities andabsorption filters.

MPA NRW has been nationally approved as body fortesting, surveillance and certification of building pro-ducts according to section 28 (1) of the building re-gulations NRW. For the European Market MPA NRWhas been notified by the European Commission andis thus acknowledged for building products accor-ding to European standards and European technicalcertifications.

The testing laboratories in the fire testingcentre Erwitte have been accredited according toDIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
