BLOCK ASSEMBLY: SNOWBALL BLOCKYou will make 18 Snowball blocks. Each with different corner prints. LABEL EACH block as you complete it.

1. Starting in the top left corner of (1) J 9-1/2" square, place (1) I 2-1/2” square in the corner, right sides together and match-ing raw edges. Draw a line diagonally across I square. Sew seam on the line. Trim ¼" from seam, discard excess corner and press open.

2. Working clockwise aroung J square, repeat step 1 using F 2-1/2” square in upper right corner, G 2-1/2” square in lower right corner and H 2-1/2” square in lower left corner. Label as Snowball Block 1.

Repeat steps 1 & 2 adding 2-1/2" squares clockwise around J 9-1/2" squares as listed to complete remain-ing snowball blocks.

Following manufacturer's instructions, apply fusible webbing to back of fabric K and L. Trace dog shape on fabric K and collor/bow shape on fabric L. (8 right facing and 10 left facing.) Cut out shapes and iron onto Snowball Block 1-18. Refer to quilt diagram for direction of dog on each block.

Outside-edge Snowballs 3. Repeating step 1,place (1) D 2-1/2” squarein the upper left cornerof (1) J 9-1/2" x 5" rectangle to make a snowball corner.Repeat on upper right corner with (1) D 2-1/2” square. Label as Side Block 1 or (S1).

Repeat step 3, adding 2-1/2" squares to top corners of J 9-1/2" x 5" rectangle as listed.

Corner Snowballs 4. Repeating step 1, place (1) I 2-1/2” square in the upper left corner of (1) J 5" x 5" square tomake a snowball corner. Label as Top Left Block.

FOUR-PATCH BLOCKS 5. Sew (1) F 5" square to (1) D 5” square. 6. Sew (1) G 5" square to (1) B 5”square. 7. Sew F/D set to the top of G/B set. Label as P1 Block.

8. Repeat step 5, 6 and 7 with 5" squares as listed to complete remaining 4-patch blocks.

QUILT ASSEMBLY:Refer to diagram on the following page. Layout rows as shown in quilt diagram. Pay close attention to turning of blocks and matching snowball corner prints to 4-patch prints to create "bow ties". Sew blocks together in each row. Sew Rows together to make quilt center. BORDER ASSEMBLY:Inside border10. Sew (2) H 1 ½" x WOF strips together at short ends. Sew to the left side of quilt center. Repeat and sew to right side of quilt center. Press and trim both borders even with top and bottom of quilt.

11. Sew (2) H 1 ½" x WOF strips together at short ends. Sew to the top of quilt center. Repeat and sew to bottom of quilt center. Press and trim both borders even with sides of quilt.

Outside border12. Repeat process from steps 10 & 11 using I 3 ½" x WOF strips and sew to the sides of quilt center.

FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3" larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual. Note: If this Benartex pattern is included in a kit, any ques-tions about the kit should be addressed to the vendor from whom you bought it.
