Dear Friends, “FEAR NOT” is the message of the Bible from Abraham—who heard the Word of God, all the way to Jesus—who is the very Word of God in the Flesh. “FEAR NOT” Is not simply an encouraging phrase from beside us, helping us buck up. This is the word of God from above us bringing authentic peace. Our God Above is saying, “FEAR NOT - I am with you!” And if the very Creator of the Universe is with us, then who can be against us? Can illness, or
hardship, or family troubles, or national distress, or international terror? No! In the book of Romans, Paul says,
“In all … things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (ROMANS 8:37-39)
It is because “God is with us,” that we can experience a peace that transcends comprehension. The encouragement to “FEAR NOT,” repeated throughout the Bible, is a high value echoed throughout the church. It is demonstrated in the way people show love and encouragement to one another in hard times. When we offer grace and kindness to one another, and to those throughout the community, we are demonstrating that God is truly with us. We are diminishing the forces of fear. We are advancing the cause of peace. Shalom,
Steve

FAMILY MINISTRIES CORNER In this picture from
“Walk Thru the
Bible,” there are
“ T w o P e a
Tears” (for 2 Peter).
Their tears are
because there’s
Poison in the Pew,
which is the key
word. The apostle
Peter’s second
letter is to convey the message that false teachers are at times
found in the church. He writes this letter to his original audience,
but with an even more serious theme than his first letter. When
defection, false teaching, and persecution come from within the
body of Christ, a serious condition exists—poison in the pew. Peter
warns that judgment awaits those who teach falsely, and that
believers must be on their guard so as not to be led away by the
error of wicked teachers (3:17). To learn more about the Book of
2 Peter, check out Pastor Steve's blog at StevenJayDavis.com…
and be sure to join us in church on Sunday, too!
