Ong, Christine Joyce P. 2013121206 Writing Task no. 3 I do agree with both of the statement because I believe that from the time that we are born to the time that we grow up we are subjected to discrimination. Though the context of things like this doesn’t seem right we have still not formulated a cure to this kind of behavior. Whether we like it or not we judge others from their appearance, from their race, from the country that they are born, from the religion that they are in or even from the slightest personality deficiency that they have, we criticize and we can’t do something about it. I don’t know if it’s the culture that influence us to do so, the satisfaction that we get whenever we thought that we are best than the other or the “that we are not like them and we are better than them” attitude that we have that mold us to this kind of mentality. I believe that it is inevitable and it is human nature to do so, we criticize and that is a given specially in our generation where we value our own satisfaction first than the others, we tend to bring others down for the sake of bringing ourselves up. I do also agree that discrimination like beauty is subjective because we tend to discriminate without thinking that we are discriminating others while doing so. We do all judge others so feeling hurt and feeling discriminated depends on the person that is being attacked because others might feel that it is not offensive but others might think that it’s very hurting. I believe that it depends on how people views it. I think that it is like beauty, we have different classifications of what beauty is, it may differ from one person to the other but still its beauty and the meaning doesn’t change. I think that

I do agree with both of the statement because I believe that from the time that we are born to the time that we grow up we are subjected to discrimination.

I think that discriminations extent is when the one that is discriminated said that it’s the extent because one cannot judge without feeling it or being on that situation so I think we just need empathized with the feelings of other people to be able to have better relationship with them and to not bring them dissatisfaction in anything that we do.

As for the case of Manny Pacquiao, in my own opinion I don’t feel offended at all because in what I believe in I think what he said is quite correct and that goes to the point on what I am saying in the earlier part of the essay that it depends on the people who views it. I might not feel offended because I am not in their position but they might feel much discriminated because they are in that kind of situation. I believe that it is Manny’s right to express his own beliefs anyway we have the freedom to do so. It is said that no other people can dictate us to what we should believe in. I think that on this kind of situation the people has the right to feel

offended and they have the right to say what they need to say but also I believe that Manny has the right to do the same. We are all humans and we just need to accept what other beliefs are so that they can understand what our beliefs too and so that we wouldn’t feel discriminated whenever their opinion opposes ours.
