CRCDS Mission Statement

Rooted in the biblical mandate for justice and mercy, CRCDS prepares women and men for ministry in the local church and beyond that is learned, pastoral and prophetic. We equip leaders for transforming ministry that speaks truth to power and stands among the “least of these.” We engage the theological disciplines in an ecumenical Christian community of

teaching, learning, and worship.

Welcome: Mr. Thomas McDade Clay Call to Worship: Ps. 146:1-2; 2 Chr. 5:13-14; Ps. 34: 1-3, 150. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live;

I will sing praises to my God all my life long.

It was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord, and when the song was raised,

With trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord, “for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever”

The house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament!

Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his surpassing greatness!

Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!

Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!

Praise him with clanging cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!

Page 3: Final Worship Monday, June 17, 2019 4:30 p.m. SAMUEL ...It was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and ... and when the song was raised,

Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Opening Hymn: All Hail the Power of Jesus Name (see insert) Confession of Sin: (Unison) Rev. Dr. Stephanie Sauvé God of healing, God of wholeness, we bring our brokenness, our sinfulness, our fears and despair, and lay them at your feet. God of healing, God of wholeness, we hold out hearts and hands, minds and souls to feel your touch, and know the peace that only you can bring. God of healing, God of wholeness, this precious moment in your presence and power grant us faith and confidence that here broken lives are made whole. Assurance of Pardon: Phil. 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Passing of the Peace Hymn: Amazing Grace (see insert) Scripture: Luke 16:19-22

Amazing Grace By John Newton

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.

Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come;

’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures;

He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’d first begun

We’ve Come this Far By Faith By Albert Goodson

Chorus: We’ve come this far by faith

Leaning on the Lord Trusting in His Holy word He never failed me yet Oh’ can’t turn around

We’ve come this far by faith

Verses: Don’t be discouraged when trouble’s in your life

He’ll bear your burdens and move all misery and strife

That why… (Chorus)

Just the other day I heard someone say He didn’t believe in God’s word;

But I can truly say that God has made a way And He never failed me yet.

That’s why … (Chorus)

Lift Every Voice and Sing

James Weldon Johnson, J. Rosamond Johnson

Lift every voice and sing Till earth and heaven ring

Ring with the harmonies of Liberty; let our rejoicing rise,

high as the list'ning skies, let it resound loud as the rolling sea sing a song full of faith that the dark past has tought us,

sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us; facing the rising sun of our new day begun,

let us march on till victory is won.

Stony the road we trod, bitter the chast'ning rod,

felt in the day that hope unborn had died; yet with a steady beat,

have not our weary feet, come to the place on witch our fathers sighed?

we have come over a way that with tears has been watered, we have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,

out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last where the white gleam of our star is cast.

God of our weary years, God of our silent tears,

thou who has brought us thus far on the way; thou who has by thy might,

led us into the light, keep us forever in the path, we pray

lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met thee, least our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget thee,

shadowed beneath the hand, may we forever stand,

true to our God, True to our native land.
