PROMOTERS OF INDIGO AIRLINES
Inter globe services :
InterGlobe Enterprises managing director Rahul Bhatia likes to keep a low
profile, but his business makes him visible all over India -- and,
increasingly, the world.
InterGlobe's domestic airline IndiGo, with its two-tone blue livery and
enviable on-time performance, has become a familiar, favoured brand.
IndiGo was on the front pages recently because of a reported order for 180new Airbus aircraft, worth $15 billion.
At the Paris Air Show in 2005, the company made headlines for a similar
reason. It ordered 100 aircraft, at $6.5 billion, when IndiGo had not even
been launched

Future Growth & Prospects
The perception for a low fare airline has often been that low cost equates to low
quality.
The big objective was that we didnt want low cost to be low quality" .
India was then one of the most underpenetrated aircraft markets in the
world, so IndiGo spread it over a period of ten years
IndiGo is now halfway through the order and has been in the business only
for five years.
The 100th aircraft would arrive in 2015. In 2015. The industry always
would need planes, but getting more of the same planes with the current
technology would have put IndiGo at a comparative disadvantage.
The only way one can make it to the finishing line is not being of a
consistent speed, but knowing when to speed up and conserve energy".
