About Part 2

I began working on this almost immediately after the initial proposal, and although we are now entering the final stages of conceptualizing, I find myself yearning to be in this document again, continuing it, adding to it, solidifying my thoughts. This is a compilation of most things that

have been discovered or come into existence since the initial proposal.

As I work I am finding that writing to gather my thoughts is my most comfortable method of organizing and favorite medium. This may have a lot to do with my long history of reading and writing. I wrote to journal, excavate messy cranium moments, document and story-tell.

Discoveries!

An indentation in the ceiling of the overhang. I wonder what the

indentation is for. Whatever it is, the indentation is an interesting discovery and I intend to either

draw attention to or make use of it.

Maybe I will do both. I want to draw attention to the space so I will

place something to lead the eye there. Anchoring will be limited to

tension.

I am curious about the existence of this half-pipe. Is it part of a whole pipe? It seems as if it does

not serve a purpose, as it ends abruptly before the window

frame. It must have served a purpose in the past. What was

that purpose?

How will my design respond to this pipe?

There are vents along the entire set of windows surrounding the classroom. I’m not sure why I was surprised to

find that they exist here as well.

Since the other side is boarded up or otherwise covered, very little if any air movement will result from this

indentation.

I am tempted to simply say that the vent is quite inconsequential- not really something I can use as an

anchor or something my design can respond to. Does it have any undiscovered traits, I wonder.
