    Some of these are new methods' while others are improvements over the traditional

    methods" #he trainin! pro!rammes commonly used to train operative and supervisory

    personnel are discussed below" #hese pro!rammes are classified into on6the6job and off6

    the6job trainin! pro!rammes

    #n The&-o" Training ethods

    #his type of trainin!' also known as job instruction trainin!' is the most commonly used

    method" 1nder this method' the individual is placed on a re!ular job and tau!ht the skills

    necessary to perform that job" #he trainee learns under the supervision and !uidance of a

    ualified worker or instructor" On6the6job trainin! has the advanta!e of !ivin! first hand

    knowled!e and experience under the actual workin! conditions" =hile the trainee learns

    how to perform a job' he is also a re!ular worker renderin! the services for which he is

    paid" #he problem of transfer of trainee is also minimi,ed as the person learns on6the6job"

    #he emphasis is placed on renderin! services in the most effective manner rather than

    learnin! how to perform the job" On6the6job trainin! methods include job rotation'

    coachin!' job instruction or trainin! throu!h step6by6step and committee assi!nments"

    -o" Rotation > #his type of trainin! involves the movement of the trainee from one job to

    another" #he trainee receives job knowled!e and !ains experience from his supervisor or

    Coaching > #he trainee is placed under a particular supervisor who functions as a coach in

    trainin! the individual" #he supervisor provides feedback to the trainee on his performance

    and offers him some su!!estions for improvement" Often the trainee shares some of the

    duties and responsibilities of the coach and relieves him of his burden" + limitation of this

    method of trainin! is that the trainee may not have the freedom or opportunity to express

    his own ideas"

    method' the trainer explains to the trainee the way of doin! the jobs' job knowled!e and

    skills and allows him to do the job" #he trainer appraises the performance of the trainee'

    !iven and asked to solve an actual or!ani,ational problem" #he trainees solve the problem
