Who Am I? !!Hello! As your National Executive Director...aka NED, I am super excited about sending our very first Quarterly Successline Newsletter! This will be a fun way to be celebrated, encouraged and rewarded. Also, a way for you to learn a little more about me as a mom, wife and CEO! !I have been married to my husband Shaw for 15 years and would not be where I am today without his love and support! He loves Thirty-One and seeing the impact our "family business" has had on others! What a gift it has been to involve my family over the last 8 years. We have amazing boys! Lucas is 10 and Nash is 7 and both could pick out a Thirty-One bag out of a crowd! We dream big as a family and see great things ahead for how God will use us to glorify Him and His purpose! !We love to go on our boat, fish, and have family game

night! We have a dream to drive cross country one summer as a family and on the journey do a

Hello again, Ladies! !I am super excited about this new communication tool to help you get to know me and hear from me and

for me to Celebrate, Encourage, and Reward each of you on a quarterly basis! So I just returned from our

National Executive Director Retreat at Cindy’s farm house in Ohio! It was such an amazing time for me to

have my cup filled as a woman and leader!! One of the topics we talked about was how to have an

Extraordinary Vision. It really impacted me and I wanted to share a few things with you from that

weekend. !First we watched a video of a speaker, Dewitt Jones, who was a photographer with National Geographic Magazine! He shared how an Extraordinary Vision brings out our passion and creativity in a way that discipline and commitment become non-issues. He shared a story about two men working in a courtyard chipping away at marble. A priest was walking through and asked one of the gentlemen who was slouched over, tiresome and with a frown on his face, “what are you doing?” He said, “I am chipping stone!” The priest then asked the man that was right next to him doing the exact same thing but with a smile on his face and he said “I am building a cathedral!” !WOW!! The one man couldn’t see past just being a “stone chipper” because he had no vision…no greater

purpose than just the day to day chipping away at that stone. It is amazing the power of our own minds

and how it creates perspective. I wonder if some of you were like me this time last year just chipping away

at stone…booking, selling, recruiting! It can really steal your joy in your business when you just see it as

that. What I realized and was confirmed at the retreat last week is that it is SO much bigger than I thought!

My vision, my purpose is even bigger than I can see right now, but I know it is there! The “chipping” is very

important right? We need to continue to book, sell, and recruit to grow our business…BUT for what??

What is your vision? Do you see it as the fuel and funding for your vision?? When I had my aha moment

this past year I realized that I was missing a big piece of what my true vision is because I was not partying

as much! My passion and purpose is to bring value and HOPE to women! I want every woman to know that

she has value and a purpose and to know what God says about her! Thirty-One allows me to fulfill this

passion of mine by the women I meet at the party! So I was missing this joy in my business because I was

not “chipping the stone” to build my cathedrals! I wasn’t putting myself, as Dewitt explains, in a place of

most potential to live my passion…which is the party! The party is what puts me in a place to meet new

team members, new customers, new hostesses and women to bring hope to! !So here are some questions I have for you to think about: 1. What is your vision for your life, your biz? 2. How do you relate to the stone chipper or the cathedral builder? 3. Are you putting yourself in the place of most potential to see your vision come to life? !

In closing I would love to share one last thing Dewitt said…It’s not about “I will believe it when I see it” but rather “I’ll see it because I believe it”. The more WE believe in our vision, the more we will see it! !!I believe in all of you and your visions! I hope you have an amazing second quarter!! - Mart ine
