Also responsible for regional geologic analysis and play expansion in SM Energy's operated Eagle Ford trend, evaluating farm-in opportunities, and supporting divestiture activities. Responsible for managing and directing exploration and development efforts in Unocal's 5 offshore exploration blocks in the Campos and Espirito Santo basins and 2 producing fields in the Potiguar basin of Brazil. In Brazil, I both directed and served as a team member for an extensive petroleum system analysis of the Campos and Espirito Santo basins in order to target the most prospective exploration areas. Also managed 5 exploration and development blocks in the East China Sea of China and personally conducted the stratigraphy and reserve calculations for the four fields under development. Characterized the deep water depositional systems and the hydrocarbon potential of the Southeast Asia basins.

Five prospects drilled resulting in two Oligocene reef discoveries totaling 420 Bcfg. Yadana Field Appraisal, offshore Myanmar, May 93-Jan. 94. Characterized the productive Oligocene reef reservoir and determined the recoverable and IGIP reserves. Four appraisal wells were drilled, all successful. Proved 5.6 Tcfg reserves. Michigan Basin Exploration, June 91-May 93. Identified prospects in Ordovician sands (PdC), Ordovician carbonates (Trenton), Devonian carbonates (Detroit River, Richfield, Dundee) and Devonian Gas Shales (Antrim). Exploration drilling resulted in several small oil and gas discoveries. Mid-Continent Basin Evaluation Task Force, Jan. 91-June 91. Analyzed potential exploration plays within numerous Mid-Continent basins to identify those plays that Unocal could economically exploit.
