Graduation Format Graduates are asked to arrive at their designated time slot wearing their caps and gowns: 10:00 A-B 11:30 I-K 1:00 S-T 10:30 C-F 12:00 L-M 1:30 U-Z 11:00 G-H 12:30 N-R FHS Class of 2020 Graduation Sunday • August 9, 2020 Beginning at 10 a.m. - Rain or shine Falcons...the time has come for your special day where you will be recognized as graduating from Farmington Public Schools! While the day will not be what you had expected, we hope to make it memorable for you and your family. Unlike other classes that have come before you for many years, you will have the honor of graduating from your home field at your high school! Another special honor bestowed to your senior class is the opportunity to decorate your graduation cap! Your family will also be able to join in your celebration. Students are allowed up to 10 guests which includes family members. Details on guidelines for decorating will be shared in another communication. 1. Graduates and their guests will park in the FHS Student Lot and then walk to the Gate on the North end of the press box on Falcon Field where you will line up on the sidewalk, standing 8-10 feet apart from the next graduate, to maintain social distancing guidelines. 2. When the graduate reaches the first checkpoint, they will be asked to fill out a card with the phonetic spelling of their name. 3. Once the graduate’s name is read, the graduate will leave their guests at the track and will pass members of the teaching staff before reaching the Stage where they will walk across to accept their diploma cover and be congratulated by the Principal. 4. The graduate will meet up with their guests on the track and proceed together to pick up the diploma and have photos taken. 5. After picking up their Class of 2020 composite picture, graduates and their guests will exit through the Main Stadium Gates, back to their parked cars and then exit the parking lot. Graduation Speeches will be taped and released on Saturday, August 8 so graduates and their families can watch them together. Graduation will be livestreamed and taped by the District’s own TV-10! Details on how to livestream the event will be shared closer to the event. If students are unable to attend, their diplomas will be mailed to them after the event.
