Some areas of Fennes date back to the 15th century. Most reception roomsare Georgian in style, with high ceilings creating a very spacious ambience.We can accommodate smaller, more intimate weddings within this suite ofrooms, and they also provide the perfect location for reception drinks, canapésand photographs, no matter what size your wedding party.

The Drawing RoomOverlooking the picturesque grounds, this elegant room is licensed for smallerceremonies, and is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of Champagne with yourguests. The large sash windows allow an abundance of natural daylight toflood in, and in the winter months, the roaring log fire provides a cosy and intimate space for your reception.

The Dining RoomSmaller wedding parties can enjoy a fine dining experience in this richly decorated room, whilst larger groups can gather here to begin the celebrations.

The LibraryTraditionally the family room of the house, furnished with deep, luxurious sofaswhich overlook the landscaped gardens and our beautiful pond complete withwater fountains and bridge; this is the ideal setting where you can laugh andrelax with your closest friends and family.

The Reading RoomWith its large, fully stocked bar and open fireplace, the Reading Room provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Licensed for civil ceremonies, these truly unique, silk-lined Pavilions are directly linked to the manor house. Complete with state-of-the-art starlight ceilings and impressive lighting, and full heating and air cooling systems, theyare the perfect setting for your wedding, reception or party.

The PavilionWith views overlooking our beautiful grounds, and dressed with silk-lined wallsto resemble a marquee, this stunning area also includes an impressive bar, together with dance floor and unique sound system. A perfect setting for avery special occasion.

The Banqueting HallOur largest function room, with the capacity to seat up to 400 guests, this versatile space can be used for evening receptions, or partitioned for smallerparties. With doors opening onto a private walled garden, this provides anideal outside space for those long summer evenings, or for guests wishing tocatch their breath between dances.

CIVIL CEREMONIES ANDCIVIL PARTNERSHIPS

A Civil Ceremony is a truly unique way of celebrating your love and devotion toeach other. With readings and music personalised by the couple themselves,the ceremony can be tailored to best reflect aspects of your personalities andrelationship. More intimate ceremonies for up to 35 guests can be conductedin the Drawing Room and larger ceremonies of up to 300 guests can be heldin the Pavilion or the Gazebo, set in the picturesque gardens.

Some couples prefer to celebrate their special day with a select number oftheir closest friends and family. CHURCH WEDDINGS

In times gone by, brides would arrive at St Mary’s Church by horse and carriageand some still choose to do so today. Just a mile from Fennes, St Mary’s provides a traditional setting for couples who want to honour their love foreach other in the company of God, their family and friends.

By RoadIf approaching via the M11 exit at junction 8A, then merge onto the A120 towards Braintree.

Once you arrive at the outskirts of Braintree, follow signs for Sudbury A131.This will take you on and around the bypass. Look out for Broadfield Nursery(see map) on your right, then take the next left onto Church Street, signpostedFennes Fisheries. Then take the fourth turning on the right into Fennes Road.We are one mile down Fennes Road.

If travelling via Sudbury or Haverhill, on the approach to Braintree turn right ata signpost for ‘Fennes Fisheries’ to take you into Church Street.Then take thefourth turning on the right into Fennes Road. We are one mile down FennesRoad. (Our postcode for Sat Nav is CM7 5PL).
