Press. Cut into 8˝ x 4 1/2˝rectangles. You will have 8 for the quiltcenter, 8 for the 4th border corners and2 leftover. Following diagram sew toalternating blocks E. Press. Sew one rowof blocks to each side of quilt center A.Be sure strip sets mirror image as inphoto. Press.1st Border:Trim side borders F to match quilt center(31 1/2˝). Stitch to each side. Trim topand bottom borders F to fit and stitch toquilt top (35 1/4˝). Press.2nd Border (This is a 3D border):After folding G in half lengthwise, use a1/8˝ seam allowance and stitch to all foursides of 1st border F. Trim to fit as yougo along. Press.3rd Border:Trim side borders H to fit 40 1/4˝. Top andbottom borders H are approximately 45˝,so use the 5th strip to match stripe andpiece borders to fit.4th Border:Daisy border strip A should be trimmedto *35˝ before stitching the strip setsBCD to each end. Press. Stitch bordersto sides. Press. Trim top and bottomDaisy to fit *30˝ before stitching thestrip sets BCD to each end. Add cornersquares F and stitch to top and bottom.Trim to fit. Press.Finishing:Cut batting and backing 2˝ larger than topon all sides. Assemble the quilt “sandwich”by placing the backing, batting and toptogether in layers and baste or pin withsafety pins. Machine quilt as desired.When machine quilting is completed,trim excess batting and backing.*Check border length before sub cutting 35˝and 30˝ strips—personal seam allowancesand pressing may change the length theborder needs to be sewn to fit NOT cut to fit.
