Categories of Pricing Policies

A Significant Partial Cost Pricing - The price for this good/service is set to make a significant contribution towards the cost of providing the service. Theremainder of the costs is met from general purpose income.

B Statutory Pricing - The price charged for this good/service is a statutory charge set by government regulation.

C Minimal Partial Cost Pricing - The price for this service is set to make a minimal contribution to the annual operating and maintenance costs of the facility. The remainder of the costs is met from general purpose income.

D Rate of Return Pricing - The price for this service is set to make a contribution towards the cost of replacing the infrastructure assets utilised in the provision ofthe service.

E Full Cost-Recovery Pricing - The price for this good/service is based on the full cost of providing the service.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

1 Council applies various fees, charges and fines. The GST status of these will depend on whether there is consideration for a supply. Some fees and charges are exempt from GST in accordance with the Federal Treasurer's Determination under section 81-5 of the A New Tax System (GST) Act 1999. Details of fees and charges subject to GST and exempt from GST are contained in the attached 2007/2008 Fees and Charges.

2 A review of the amount of each fee/charge/fine has been undertaken by Council and necessary price adjustments have been made.
