Cost Analysis Chargeback FECA Program is financed by the Employees’ Compensation Fund

Cost derives from previous year injury claims, death claims, temporarily disable, or daily rolls, permanent disable or period rolls.

Cost of compensation for work related injuries are charged annually at the end of fiscal accounting period July to

June

OWCP furnishes each agency with a statement of payments made to the fund.

OWCP provides a listing of the cases and charges on the yearly chargeback bill

Challenged Claims

Injuries must be initially investigated by supervisor!

If claimant case is questionable supervisors must report facts.

We can challenge claims when filing the electronic CA-1 or CA-2 and provide supporting documentation

A safety investigation can either validate or challenge injury claim

There were two claims challenged- one sustained, one accepted!
