CHAPLAIN PHIL’S BLESSING

The year 2020 is here! Wow! It is hard to believe, but here we are.

A new year, a new decade, and a new tomorrow on the horizon.

So, happy new year!

In many ways, the world around us is so very different. It is hard to

keep up with all of the changes in the media, technology, and

simply the pace of life in general. What a strange new world we

live in!

In other ways, things remain the same. The routine of life continues,

and the seasons of the earth rotate in their due time. In a few

weeks, as the days continue to get longer, the leaves on the trees

will begin budding, the flowers will begin to bloom, and the birds will

be singing their Springtime songs. Life will go on, just as it always has.

This reminds me of the steadfastness we have in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. This is a very amazing and beautiful

promise. It is a promise that no matter the craziness of the world around us, the love we have in

Christ Jesus will never change. God’s love for you will never change.

God claims you and knows you, inside and out. God, who stitched you together before you were

even born holds and loves you, from your first breath to your last. Best of all, God’s love is a love that

is eternal. It is a love that will never change, never grow dim, and never ever end. That is a

beautiful promise.

So, rejoice! When life seems to be confusing. When the events of the world around us make us

uneasy. When the realities of our daily lives cause us to worry, or stumble, or simply be confused.

Take comfort in knowing that the greatest, most important thing never ends. That is God’s love for

you. Once again, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. What an amazing,

hopeful joy for us!

Thanks be to God!

Pastor Phil
