LENT Can you believe that Lent is just around the corner? Ash Wednesday is Wednesday, February 26th! Lent is a graced time of repentance, prayer, works of mercy, fasting, and growing closer to God. It is a chance for us to slow down, “take stock,” and examine our lives. It is a powerful time to go to Confession if you have been away for a while.
How would you like to spend Lent?
How would you like to grow closer to God?
Here are a few ideas:
Prayer
1. Visit our chapel and spend time in Eucharistic Adoration
2. Read one of the Gospels and learn about Jesus
Fasting
1. Give up social media or limit your use of it
2. Give up snacking between meals
Almsgiving
1. Volunteer at Feed My Starving Children
2. Pray for those who have died

STAFF UPDATE
I am happy to share with you that we have hired Richard Ho-gan as our Accounting Specialist. Richard lives in Hugo and is a long-time member of St. Pius in White Bear Lake. He belongs to the Knights of Columbus and knows many St. Peter’s Knights as they played on the same softball team. He is a strong Catholic and active in his parish.
Richard got his BS in Business Administration at Southwest State University and his MBA at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. His past employment includes time spent at Cargill, 3M, and IBM Global Services. He will officially start on 2/17/2020.

FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an individual to join our maintenance staff. This is a full-time 40 hour a week position. The hours are from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Duties in-clude: vacuuming, cleaning, mopping, set-ups and take-downs.
Prior maintenance experience preferred, including the ability to operate floor care equipment such as scrubbers and carpet ex-tractors. The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, pass a criminal background check, and pass an oc-cupational physical prior to employment.

PASTORAL CARE
Seven Sisters Apostolate — Pray For Priests! Help us strengthen the Church by ensuring that one Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intentions of the pastor or the associate pastor here at St. Peter.
Each sister in the apostolate commits to one Holy Hour on a distinct day of the week, thus covering a complete week. The commitment is held to that day; the sis-ter may pray at any time on that day. If she is unable to offer her Holy Hour, she is to secure a substitute for her day.
We are currently in need of a sister to pray on Mondays for our parochial vicar (associate pastor). FAITH FORMATION Did you know that St. Peter’s Faith Formation students are service oriented, as you can see by the project they’re doing in the photo? (They are making a card to be sent to a young person who is ill.) Did you know that St. Peter’s Knights of Columbus are very generous? Did you know that St. Peter’s Faith Formation program has benefited from the Knights of Columbus’ generosity?

Did you know that St. Peter’s Faith Formation Grade Four students will be doing their Service Project by learning how to make Rosaries? Did you know that the Rosaries that Grade Four will make will go to Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos? (This is the Faith For-mation’s All Grade Group Service Project.) We just concluded our celebration of Catholic Schools Week, the time each
year when we share with the parish and community the many ways our

Thank you to the volunteers who joined our Faith/Works Ministry St. Peter’s Packers Team at the Feed My Starving Children facility in Coon Rap-ids on January 29th. They did an awe-some job during a session in which 40,392 meals were packed in 1 1/2 hours. That’s enough food to feed 111 hungry children in Belize, Mexi-co for an entire year! May God bless you and may God bless the children!
