PUBLISHING INFORMATION

What makes your HEART HAPPY?

What makes your HEART HAPPY? Have you ever thought about that?

When you are happy…..every out-look on life seems to look a lot brighter. So why do we put off or stop doing the things that make our HEART HAPPY?

As we begin February, typical known as the month of love, candy, flowers and all that mushy stuff that is centered around Valentine’s Day, please don’t forget that a HEALTHY HEART is a HAPPY HEART!

In January we had a very successful Health and Wellness Expo and I hope that you were able to attend and gather all kinds of information about starting the NEW YEAR as a NEW YOU!

As you listen this month to our breakfast sponsor North Okaloosa Medical Center let all the information they are sharing soak into your mind. The information that they share at this time of the year is a reminder of how important it is to listen to your body and start the conversation with your doctor. Pay attention to the information that is being communicated, take notes, and ask questions and share the information with your staff, family and friends.

Friday, February 3rd is the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day® Go Red for Women. I encourage you all to remind the women in your life to get that check-up that they have been put-ting off. According to the American Heart Association

website http://honor.americanheart.org “Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds.” That statistic is kinda scary! You only have one body…..take care of it.

If your office participates in National Wear Red Day® Go Red for Women take a photo and email it to me. I would love to share it on our facebook page.

I look forward to seeing you around town in the month of February.

Dawn Mann, AIAM Legacy Insurance 682-2519Chairman of the Board

Do you know what is available to you as a member of the best Chamber in Okaloosa County? Of course we all know that you can come to the monthly breakfast and network with up to 200 people, but what else is out there that you can be taking advantage of? I’ll tell you, there is a lot!

Take this FOCUS for example… If you have something interest-ing and exciting to share about your line of work (not an advertise-ment), you can ask Jennifer Pierson to include it in this publication. There is often extra space that is available totally free of charge! You can't beat free! For the low price of $25 you can have your ads

blasted out to every single member via email. For the even lower price of $10 you can reserve a table at the monthly breakfast and share your fliers and other handouts with all of our guests. If you are an expert on a specific topic and would like to share your knowledge in a small group setting, you can contact Sandra Wilson about scheduling a lunch and learn. The opportunities are basically limitless.

One of my favorite opportunities to take advantage of is the Business After Hours. The Chamber schedules one Business After Hours each month and they are typically on the second Thursday of the month. They are hosted by a different member each time and are always a great time! All members are invited, but if your business is the host, it is recommended that you invite your customers and friends as well. The more

the merrier, right? There is no fee to the Chamber to host this event, but you will want to provide some refreshments. The style is completely up to you. This is your opportu-nity to show off your building, your staff, and all that your business has to offer.

You can always check the calendar at www.crestviewchamber.com to see when and where all of the upcoming events are. I’m excited to tell you that the February After Hours is hosted by Community Bank! Come by the branch at 345 E James Lee Blvd (next to Wings of Fire) on February 9th from 5:00-6:30 and we will treat you to appetizers, drinks, and a decadent dessert bar. I’ll even let you in on a little secret… we have a chocolate fountain! And if you decide that you want to host an After Hours of your own, or have any questions about all of the membership perks, please contact the Chamber staff.

I hope I see you all real soon!

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORSWe would like to thank all of our Sponsors for

making our 10th Annual Health & Wellness Expo possible and for all the volunteers who helped put-ting this event together.

Special thanks go to the Health & Wellness Committee Chairman Cameron Yordon, Beltone Hearing Center.

With over 350 visitors and a full house of vendors the day was a great success. A dance performance from Triple Threat Dance & Cheer filled the house with little dancers and a Demo Team from Gordon Martial Arts showed off their moves towards the end of the expo. Thanks to all of our vendors and visitors that came out to see all that Crestview has to offer when it comes to health and wellness.
