All youth who will be exhibiting beef, dairy cattle, dairy goats, meat goats, poultry, rabbits, sheep and swine at the Mississippi Valley Fair and/or Iowa State Fair are required to complete YQCA (Youth for the Quality Care of Animals) of FSQA (Food Safety Quality Assurance) certification by July 1st.

What does this mean for you? This year, Scott County would like to transition to the YQCA pro-gram completely. We will not be offering any FSQA trainings this year. You are still allowed to take this training in another county, but know many other counties are phasing FSQA out as well. Next year you will be required to do YQCA so we would encourage you to get used to this process now!

The FSQA Testing option is no longer available, ALL members will need to renew this year!

YQCA will be offered both online, as well as, in person. It is an annual training that builds on the curriculum each year. The online training will cost $12 per member per year, while the in person training will cost $3 per member per year.

To sign up for a training please visit https://yqca.learngrow.io to login with your 4-H online creden-

tials. Make sure to sign up for the course for your age during the 2017 Calendar Year! You may

sign up for in-person trainings in other counties.

Scott County In-Person YQCA Training:

Tuesday, March 27th, 6:30-8:00 pm — Scott County Extension Office

There will be a Beginning Bucket Calf Workshop at the Scott County Extension Office on March 15th, at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in having a bucket calf this class is for you! Come and listen to everything needed to have a bucket calf at the fair. Please call the Extension Office to reserve your spot today! | (563) 359-7577
