PBS Hawaii has reached90 percent of its $30 million NEW HOME Campaign goal

We’re almost there! Construction of PBS Hawaii’s NEW HOME, The Clarence T.C.

Ching Campus, will be completed this summer. If you have a chance, take a look at how the building is progressing at the cor-ner of Nimitz Highway and Sand Island Access Road in Honolulu.

Across the state, well over a thousand individuals and orga-nizations that care about education--through quality storytell-ing--have brought this project nearly to the finish line!

On screen, PBS Hawaii is known for bringing people and ideas together...for bringing the world to Hawaii and Hawaii to the world.

But despite the miracles of broadcasting and the Web, there remains a vital need for people to get together in person. • This beautiful building, with open collaborative spaces, will en-able us to convene storytellers. It’ll be a trusted place for indepen-dent filmmakers and others to share different and sometimes difficult perspectives about our island home. Many new stories will unfold. • We’ll provide workshop space for teachers and students from all islands, including those in our 90-school HIKI NŌ statewide student news network. • The layout will make possible more offerings of LIVE television with studio audiences, featuring music performances as well as timely conversations on important issues.
