My Dear Members

This memo will be full of “Thank You”. I was very surprised on Wednesday,

the day Linda made a spaghetti dinner. The lounge was

full with members. Standing room only. Some had to go into the big

hall to sit and eat. Thank you to all who came.

Our treasurer Walter Zilka and Ben Gray under supervision of Jim

White have done a tremendous job. Our Accounting system is under

control and we get reliable reports again. Thank you, Thank you.

To get extra money into our lodge account, Paul and Lisa Turner are

putting on a Yard sale on January 27 and 28th. Please support this

venture and bring your unwanted items for them and us to sell. Just

drive by and drop it of, or come on in and stay a little. Thank you.

Recently we had special events, anniversaries for Duarte, parties for

several groups. You should have seen how nice our hall can look, when

decorated appropriately. We will try to book this hall constantly with your

help. Get the word out that we have such a nice facility. Thank you

Our planning committee under Linda’s guidance was meeting late night and

a lot is being planned for. I admire their energy. Please volunteer, help them

even this group of loyal Elks can not do it alone. Thank you

At our next meeting we are taking seven new members in, several of them

are offering their hand and expertise to make us grow. I am grateful, thank you.

Also thank you to Lynn our bar manager for doing such a great job.

I am sure I left a few out, but thank you thank to all.

Your E.R. Hans Offenborn

Food for the Hungry The Elk’s Lodge 2787 did a great job in 2011 to help support our local Holly-Navarre food shelf program. February 1st,

2012, we are going to begin by locating collection barrels in the lobby of our Elks Lodge entrance. Please support this

local program by placing food in these barrels. I will empty and deliver the food as often as necessary. The food shelf

is also in need of blankets and baby clothes. Thanks for your support. Committee Chairman, Lyle Cater
