CITY CLERK/TREASURER
The City of Kiester is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of City Clerk/Treasurer. This position is a part-time position with a maximum of 28 hours per week at present, but could become full time in the future. Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, managing utility billing functions, collections and customer service. Processing accounts receivables and payables. Processing payroll for City employees and preparing all reports for employee taxation, and managing budget reconciliation and preparation in accordance with all City, County, State and Federal guidelines for governmental budgeting. General clerical experience, and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software is required. Accounting and budget preparation experience is desirable. Also other duties as directed by the City Council.

Lab Animal Care TechnicianThe Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota, located in Austin, MN, is currently hiring a full-time Lab Animal Care Technician. Requirements of this position include: a high school diploma or equivalent; education and/or experience with animals to total one year; the ability to repeatedly lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time; and the proven ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. The preferred candidate should have a willingness to learn, be detail oriented and have good verbal and written communications skills. The duties of this position include: clean animal cages, racks etc.; feed and care for laboratory animals; and basic animal husbandry. Other duties will be assigned as needed within the animal facility. This position can be labor intensive and physically demanding.
Casual Wash Room EmployeeThe Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota, located in Austin, MN, is currently hiring two casual Wash Room employees to fill in when additional help is needed within the facility. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent; the ability to repeatedly lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time; and the proven ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. impoverished people and to raise funds for local schools and charities.Shoes have been sent to Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvadore, Nicaragua, Chili, Peru, Mexico, Mozambique, Cameroon & Ghana
Randy Harig is running a local shoe drive in Freeborn CountyShoes collected here will be donated to people in Jamaica or the Phillipines. Funds earned ($2.00 per pair) will be used to help transport the shoes to where they are needed. Randy is not affiliated with any group. He took on this drive as a way to make a difference to people in need as well as to teach his kids an important lesson: It’s a good thing to help out and not to receive anything in return.Project Sole accepts athletic shoes running, basketball, soccer, cross training, volleyball, skate shoes and hiking boots are the most needed. They can not use sandals, sport cleats or high heels. Shoes can be stinky, dirty and worn. The aim is to collect shoes with 50% of tread remaining. They limit the brands collected to major athletic brands similar to: Nike, Adidas, Asics, New Balance, Reebok, Converse, Sketchers, DC and Puma. These brands have earned the reputation of being better built and are more durable.

Randy Harig is running a local shoe drive in Freeborn CountyShoes collected here will be donated to people in Jamaica or the Phillipines. Funds earned ($2.00 per pair) will be used to help transport the shoes to where they are needed. Randy is not affiliated with any group. He took on this drive as a way to make a difference to people in need as well as to teach his kids an important lesson: It’s a good thing to help out and not to receive anything in return.Project Sole accepts athletic shoes running, basketball, soccer, cross training, volleyball, skate shoes and hiking boots are the most needed. They can not use sandals, sport cleats or high heels. Shoes can be stinky, dirty and worn. The aim is to collect shoes with 50% of tread remaining. They limit the brands collected to major athletic brands similar to: Nike, Adidas, Asics, New Balance, Reebok, Converse, Sketchers, DC and Puma. These brands have earned the reputation of being better built and are more durable.

The City of Kiester is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of City Clerk/Treasurer. This position is a part-time position with a maximum of 28 hours per week at present, but could become full time in the future. Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, managing utility billing functions, collections and customer service. Processing accounts receivables and payables. Processing payroll for City employees and preparing all reports for employee taxation, and managing budget reconciliation and preparation in accordance with all City, County, State and Federal guidelines for governmental budgeting. General clerical experience, and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software is required. Accounting and budget preparation experience is desirable.
