Florida’s Plan to Eliminate HIV Transmission and Reduce HIV-related Deaths
Four Key Components
• Test and treat • Antiretroviral pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP)
• Routine HIV and sexually transmitted disease (STD) screening in health care settings/targeted testing in non-health care settings
• Community outreach and messaging

Prevention—Funding/Contracts
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) PS12-1201, HIV Prevention 5-year cooperative agreement beginning January 2012 (Prevention Grant) with extension through December 2017;; new CDC Funding Opportunity Announcement will combine Prevention and Surveillance activities
• 2016 CDC prevention funding (PS12-1201): $34.6 million
• Secretary’s Minority AIDS Initiative Fund Partnerships for Care (P4C) Project funding for health department: $644,375;; P4C health center funding: $2.4 million;; Total for Florida: $3 million

• Current number of prevention contracts- High-Impact Prevention (HIP), Men who have sex with Men (MSM)/Transgender, MAI, Targeted Outreach for Pregnant Women Act (TOPWA), Expanded Testing Initiative (ETI), Central Office (Hotline, Media, AIDS Education and Training Center): 89
• HIV Prevention Request for Applications- will be in development within next few months;; tentative release date in summer 2017
