HOLY SPIRIT By St. Augustine of Hippo

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, To defend all that is holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy. Amen

    The Marian Medal Program for

    7th Grade Girls begins December 8 !

Please join us on December 8th from 11:30 AM– 1:30 PM in AV ROOM to begin our Marian Medal Program with an Advent Celebration! Lunch is provided. All 7th-grade girls and their Moms are welcome to join in this unique faith-building opportunity! Meetings will be held through May and will include presentations, community

building activities, crafts, and prayer. Moms will be invited to hear the presentations and then break into small groups for adult faith sharing. This is a beautiful opportunity to grow in relationship with Jesus through his first disciple, Mary. Like Mary, we will be challenged to reach out to new friends who are also learning to love Jesus as his mother did. Registration for the program will be done at that meeting, so you and your daughter can attend before you commit to the program. We need a headcount for lunch. Mom's participation isn’t necessary for the girls to join. Most meetings will be held on Sunday afternoon from 11:30 – 1:30, with a few on days off school. Please register to attend the first meeting on December 8th by emailing Anne Kinskey:[email protected] by December 1st.

    MARIAN MEDAL

    Actual Budget Shortfall

    Collections $ 487,872.09 $ 525,690.80 $ (37,818.71)

    Net Loss $ (67,463.29) $ (21,606.57) $ (45,856.72)

THANK YOU to all parishioners who increased their tithing subsequent to the appeal made in August. Since then, 441 families have increased their giving! We appreciate this positive response to the appeal. Given that the appeal for increased giving occurred in August, the resulting increase in collections occurred in the last month of the quarter.

As the Parish is not meeting its budgeted collection amount, the Parish is falling short of what is necessary to meet our operating expenses. Additionally, one of the HVAC units broke down in August, resulting in an unbudgeted expense of $12,000 for the replacement unit.

As a reminder, the Parish budgeted a loss for the year of $86,000, which was mainly driven by the cost of the HVAC dehumidification project. This project was deemed necessary to address concerns raised from the mold in St. Elizabeth’s Hall last year. $14,000 has been spent on this project through September.

Given the Parish collections shortfall, unbudgeted expenditures, and budgeted loss, we continue to request prayerful consideration of increased giving to support the wonderful ministries of Holy Spirit.
