Fast forward to today and the sentiment remains, only this time they can add eco-fashion to their roster!

Leave extra time when making a visit to Eco-Citizen to walk the area known as Nob Hill. Situated just off Polk Street, an afternoon spent shopping at Eco-Citizen is well-suited for wandering in and out of nearby cafes and shops.

Vegan Mexican food sounds like an oxymoron, and oh so wonderful at the same time!

For all the converted vegans out there who have been craving a tamale or a fajita with more than just some green peppers and onions- Gracias Madres is a dream come true.

Founded on the principles of producing good and local food, the restaurant boasts Mexican home cooking with an organic flair! Homemade tortillas solidify its authentic standing, while a changing menu with locally harvested and seasonal produce keep it interesting.

And don’t stop with the food either- homemade lemonade, naturally sweetened, is a must!

Located in the heart of the Mission, Gracias Madres is a bit of a diamond in the rough. The interior is current and minimal with traditional wooden and tile accents.

Indoor and outdoor seating as well as long family style tables make for a great party venue.

I popped in to meet a fellow eco-fashionista and San Francisco local during my trip. We sat at the bar and were taken care of so well by the barista, it was as though we were family!

No matter the occasion or meal, Gracias Madres is the perfect choice for something new and different in all the right ways!

Set in a loft room with treatments beds divided by curtains, the spa is not as personalized as one may be
