FARMINGTON
WELCOME TO
C2
No other club in Charlottesville offers our blend of
historic ambience, recreational sports, delightful
social events and exceptional service.
Annual events at Farmington mark the seasons
and shape traditions for generations of family
members. Let Farmington’s rituals, from our July
Fourth celebration on the North Lawn to our New
Year’s gala in the Ballroom, set the stage for creating
your own memorable traditions.
Whether you come to Farmington for our
outstanding sports amenities, myriad social activities,
or an intimate retreat from the world, you’ll appreciate
our rich tradition of hospitality.
Whenever you use the Club, know that we’ll take
care of all the details each step of the way. The only
thing you need to do is relax and enjoy.
Welcome to Farmington, an extension of your home and a place where you’ll share warmth, beauty and fun with those you love.
SPRINGFA R MINGTON
Spring kicks off our busy golf season, which includes
tournaments such as the Kenridge, Virginia’s premier
amateur invitational, as well as daily golf events and
clinics. The sound of rackets hitting balls fills the air
around the outdoor tennis courts as our members enjoy
the sun and a little friendly competition. Cap off a good
match by sharing lunch at the Grill restaurant. Our
culinary team finds inspiration in the season’s fresh,
local ingredients, and you’ll relish their creations while
taking in the views from our outdoor patios.
In spring, our grounds manager offers frequent
gardening workshops covering topics such as boxwood
pruning and container planting. In conjunction with
Garden Week, join us for a garden tour and luncheon,
and take home some tips for your own garden.
When the first daffodils bloom around the
Clubhouse, Farmington comes alive with social
events and outdoor recreation. The beauty of
Farmington in the spring is unmatched, as our
renowned Kousa dogwoods grace the grounds and
golf course with color and our extensive gardens
brighten the landscape. Farmington’s natural
beauty provides the perfect backdrop to popular
spring celebrations including the Spring Festivus,
our members-only party, traditional Easter egg
hunt and Mother’s Day brunch.
Spring at Farmington sets the stage for growing traditions.
Let Farmington make your summer planning easy.
Our Memorial Day Family Carnival launches
summer at Farmington, and the Club becomes
a whirlwind of activity with daily events for
everyone in the family. Drop your kids by the
pool for supervised fun in the sun while Dad
entertains friends on the golf course and Mom
takes a private tennis lesson. Then everyone
can meet up again for dinner at the Grill
before heading home, relaxed and happy and
full of stories to share.
No one does Fourth of July quite like Farmington,
where it’s become the can’t-miss summer social event
and a tradition for most member families. The day
begins with one of America’s favorite pastimes, a
golf tournament for the whole family. Celebrate our
nation’s independence poolside with cocktails for the
grown-ups and water games and races for the kids.
Then we welcome everyone to the North Lawn for a
cookout and dancing to live music before the best part
of the day: snuggling up on picnic blankets to watch
Charlottesville’s best fireworks show with an inspiring
Blue Ridge backdrop.
Summer camp is a well-loved tradition at Farmington
that gets children outside and active learning new skills
while making friendships that can last a lifetime. The
weekly day camp includes lessons in tennis, golf and
swimming, as well as camp games, arts and crafts and more.
SUMMERFA R M I NGTON
“Today after just over a month of being
a member and having already played
in the Member-Guest Tournament in
June, I can only echo what my guest
said: ‘Paul, this club is true class.’
I hope joining Farmington becomes
the first step in my eventual relocation
to Charlottesville and me becoming a
resident member, but in the meantime
I plan to visit it as I often as I can.”
“After staying at Farmington, we decided
the time was right for us to join. Margaret
and I both enjoy golf and find your course
challenging and beautiful. You have a
wonderful fitness facility that we look
forward to using in our constant endeavor
to stay healthy. Last but not least, Margaret
and I love to eat out and know we will
frequent the Farmington Grill and bar,
and we plan to enjoy the fine dining in the
Terrace Room.”
“Once again we experienced a
wonderful three-day stay and golf
tournament. Farmington is a true
‘experience’ and after almost 25
years, we still enjoy our visits so
much. So many improvements over
the years—the place gets better and
better. I have never seen nicer and
more personable staff!”
Fall is a great time to slip away to Farmington with your
partner for a cozy candlelit date night in the Terrace
Dining Room, our intimate fine dining restaurant.
Farmington plans a host of events to coincide with
the University of Virginia football schedule, including
game-day golf events, dining specials and a shuttle to
and from the games. Gather together with alumni and
local fans to cheer the home team to victory.
AUTUMNFA R MINGTON
Reconnect with lifelong friends at Farmington’s autumn celebrations.
As the leaves start to change around Farmington,
the golf course stays vibrant with fall tournaments
such as our Member-Member and Senior Memorial.
Take in the changing foliage from a blanket
spread on the North Lawn at one of our outdoor
concerts. You and your guests can enjoy a range
of musical performances by well-known local bands
and dance as the sun sets behind the mountains.
Winter is a time to gather your loved ones, come in from the cold and relax by our fire.
Let Farmington take the stress out of the
holiday season. Don’t worry about whether
your Thanksgiving turkey will be cooked or
your house is spotless. Book your guests into
one of our 40 guest rooms and let them
discover everything that made you fall in
love with Farmington: the stunning scenery,
historic architecture, and personalized,
attentive service.
Winter heats up with frequent casual social events
such as gingerbread house decorating and the caroler’s
brunch. Cross a few names off your gift list at our week-
long holiday bazaar, which showcases the work of local
artists. Let us wrap your gifts while you and your friends
celebrate the season at our holiday luncheon.
Take your mind off the winter weather with several
formal social events including the Christmas Dance,
New Year’s Eve gala and Winter Festivus. Little ones
love whispering their Christmas wishes to Santa at the
Children’s Christmas Party.
All winter long, our active members participate
in thriving indoor and platform tennis leagues. Our
personal trainers await your visit to the Fitness Center,
where they can help you design a workout program to
keep you in top physical condition for the spring’s busy
golf and tennis season. Then treat yourself to a relaxing
massage and feel the cares of winter melt away.
WINTERFA R MINGTON
Our Executive Chef and skilled culinary staff will take
care of the details while you focus on what’s really
important about the holidays: your friends and family.
So sit back and celebrate.
