President's Message
Dr S Bala Bhaskar
The release of the rst E-Newsletter for the year 2019 from Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) is timed to highlight the activities of the ISA in 2019. The Newsletter also reects the importance the ISA attaches to dissemination of information to its over 28,000 members.
As the President of this great body of Anaesthesiologists of India, I have a vision of strengthening the platform for transforming ISA as the number one professional body of Anaesthesiologists in the world within the next decade. This can be possible only with active interaction between the members and the ISA at all levels of administration.
The Governing Council also shares the same vision, a council with a rich mix of the most experienced minds along with the dynamic young minds. The ISA will also solicit contributions from members related to the profession, practice and innovations for the Newsletter.
Content wise, I expect the Newsletter to be up to date on the 'happening' things in the eld of Anaesthesia in India and a forum for members to share their experiences as members in their respective branches.
Long Live ISA!

Secretary's Message
Dr Naveen Malhotra
Dear ISAians,
Greetings from ISA National Head Quarters !
Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) has set a benchmark in the practice of Anaesthesiology in the Indian subcontinent. ISA has in myriad ways inuenced anaesthesiologists from all walks of life- be it a youngster who has just entered the arena or be it an established name in the practice of Anaesthesia- all have beneted. I, as the Secretary of this esteemed body, thank you from the bottom of my heart to bestow upon me the opportunity to serve the ISA and in turn serve you.
I am a rm believer in the power of the three virtues- honesty, sincerity and hardwork, which I strive to imbibe in every task and every responsibility that has been entrusted upon me. ISA has been committed to excellence not only in academics in medical colleges but also in the corporate sector, free lancers and in other training avenues, and I have committed myself to ISA.
I urge the young blood- the budding anaesthesiologists/ post graduate trainees to benet from ISA and help in strengthening the core foundation of anaesthesiology in India. The man-power and intellect the young minds potentially possess would take us to newer zeniths not just nationally but internationally only if we train them well. I, in the capacity of Honorary Secretary ISA, pledge to make this dream come true in the coming years, and solicit your constructive criticism, advice and suggestions.
Jai ISAian !
Long Live ISA!
Jai Hind !
