Format
The weekend combines general sessions delivered by the four-person conference
speaker team (two couples), with designated times set aside for projects to complete
as a couple. Though we do not offer a formal question-and-answer time with
the conference speakers, they are available before and after sessions to answer
questions on an individual basis.
We also offer special breakout sessions that are for pre-married couples.
Capitalize
To make the most of this experience, we
encourage you to do four things:
1. Listen carefully during the sessions to the
overall purpose and plan for marriage, even if
you’re not sure you agree with a particular point
at first. Many of the concepts and applications
become clearer as the weekend progresses.
2. Think about how you can apply the principles
in your own life, rather than what you think
your spouse needs to learn.
3. Complete the projects—they are crucial to the
conference experience.
4. Decide upon at least two or three action points
by the end of the weekend that you and your
spouse agree to apply in the next thirty days
If possible, arrive early on Friday to give
yourselves a chance to wind down from the pace
of your week. Also, if you can, plan to go out for
dinner after the last session on Sunday. This will
help you transition from your weekend away back
into everyday life, and will give you time to set a
new plan of action for your life together.
Hotel Voucher
As part of the Weekend to Remember Legacy Gift, you have
received a hotel credit of $100.00. Enjoy it in a variety
of ways at your getaway hotel – dinner, spa treatments,
breakfast in bed....
A special part of the weekend is the Saturday evening Date
Night. We recommend making special dinner arrangements
prior to the conference weekend for this evening. Rekindle
the fire over a candlelight dinner—reserve a romantic table
for two. Surprise your spouse with a special gift that you
have tucked away in your suitcase. Or simply, hang the
“do not disturb” sign outside your door. And, if you are
enjoying this weekend with friends, make sure to reserve
this evening just to spend this time together as a couple.

Speakers
FamilyLife’s Weekend to Remember speakers have come to thoroughly understand
the importance of God’s design for marriage and are living it out in their daily lives.
They are a dynamic, fun-filled group of people who are committed to both encourage
and equip you and your spouse to build a Godly home. Their presentations are
Biblically and professionally sound. It is FamilyLife’s hope that you will enjoy and gain
great insight from their unique perspectives on how putting God’s plan into action
will change your marriage for the better… forever.
With 10 speaker couples, the actual speakers vary for each event.
Del & Lori FletcherDelvin and Lori were born and raised in the greater Toronto area
in Ontario. Growing up, they attended the same church and had
cottages on the same lake in northern Ontario, but their friendship
really began during Delvin’s 3rd year of Engineering at the
University of Toronto. Upon graduating, they married in 1982.
Delvin is an executive in the IT industry, while Lori runs her
own financial and accounting business. They are active in their
local church, with a heart for helping couples through premarital
counselling and marriage mentoring. The Fletchers currently
live in Burlington, Ontario, with their daughter Lauren, who is
attending university. Their son Ryan is married to Nikki; they live
and work in Toronto.
Keith & Sheila GregoireKeith and Sheila hail from Belleville, ON, where they’re active in
their local church. Keith is a busy paediatrician, and Sheila is a
writer with three books under her belt and another on the way.
She is also a syndicated newspaper columnist, writing about
family and marriage issues. Together, Keith and Sheila take turns
homeschooling their two children. When they’re not working, you
can find them escaping in their trailer to “do school” in Ontario’s
parks. It’s their prayer that God can use them to reach Canadian
families, one marriage at a time.
Greg & Wendy JonesGreg grew up in southeast New Brunswick, while Wendy’s
growing up years were divided between four provinces as well
as Germany and France. Currently living in Saint John, NB, Greg
serves as Director of Development as well as Regional Minister for
the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches. Wendy is an Office
Administrator for an international IT company. They are involved
in church leadership, teaching and speaking. The Jones’ have two
daughters in university and one in middle school. The family enjoys
exploring new coffee shops, camping, traveling, visiting friends and
hanging out together.
Paul & Eleanor HendersonPaul played professional hockey for 18 years but is best remembered

to Change since 1984. Paul helps give leadership to LeaderImpact
Group, while Eleanor is a homemaker involved in women’s ministries
and pastoral care. The Hendersons live in Mississauga, Ontario and
have three daughters and six grandchildren.

that, Neil was president of a Bible College while Sharol worked in
TV news with CTV, CBC, and CKVU in Vancouver. Together they
give leadership and direction to Familylife as well as oversee new
projects and fundraising initiatives at FamilyLife. They are frequent
speakers at marriage and family conferences where their sense
of humour, love for God, and passion for families endear them to
people of all ages. They sincerely believe that with God’s help,
healthy marriages and families can make a comeback in Canada!

church. Dave gives direction to AIA’s ministry across Canada
to professional athletes in the CFL and NBA, as well as to the
basketball ministry across Canada.

Biblical principles and plain old hard work, they’ve been married for
over 30 years and live in Southern California along with their five
wonderfully artistic children ages 18 to 25.
