Spring is here, and with it a renewed optimism that things will return to normal as the virus spread slows and the vaccine takes effect. We are hopeful for a robust season next year, including a return to a full calendar of social events. Id like to offer a warm welcome to our new owners! With our planned social activities on temporary hiatus its been a bit more difficult for you to meet your neighbors, but introduce yourselves as you stroll the property or sit by the pools. Join one of our many committees and get involved – make this your paradise, too. Ongoing and new projects recently approved by the Board will enhance our community during the coming year. The remodel of the Clubhouse – west side has begun with the underground plumbing and construction work to follow in April. Beginning in late April or May, the tennis courts will be resurfaced and new lighting installed to accommodate both tennis and pickleball. Both activi- ties are enjoyed by many residents and will attract new owners and renters alike. A newly constructed more stable launch is in place at the north end of the property, making it easier and safer for our kayakers to access the beautiful scenery and wildlife of the bay and intracoastal waterways. The first phase of the reconstruction of our seawall is nearing completion. We will all be glad for the noise and construction traffic to abate and our bayside landscaping and dock access to return to normal. A special thanks to those Board members who helped oversee this much needed and hugely successful project. Finally, new plantings, reconfigurations and landscape clean up continue to enhance our property. Thanks to all of our committee members, staff and hands on volunteers who have assisted with all of these projects. On a personal note, Id like to thank my partners on the Board for their thought- ful input and commitment to their fiduciary obligations to our owners. Board membership is a volunteer position, and managing the needs of a 155 unit com- munity can be challenging at times, but rewarding when progress is made. While not all decisions are popular, please know our focus is on the common good and that we strive to maintain and enhance our collective safety and in- vestment in this beautiful property. For both full and part time residents, I encourage you to stay in touch through attendance at monthly Board meetings via Zoom (or hopefully in person later this year) and to visit our website (sunrisecove-siestakey.com) to access up- dates and important documents. Board Meeting—April 21, 2021

Presidents Corner

I hope our inaugural 2021 newsletter finds all of you well. Spring is here, and

with it a renewed optimism that things will return to normal as the virus spread

slows and the vaccine takes effect. We are hopeful for a robust season next

year, including a return to a full calendar of social events.

I’d like to offer a warm welcome to our new owners! With our planned social

activities on temporary hiatus it’s been a bit more difficult for you to meet your

neighbors, but introduce yourselves as you stroll the property or sit by the

pools. Join one of our many committees and get involved – make this your

paradise, too.

Ongoing and new projects recently approved by the Board will enhance our

community during the coming year. The remodel of the Clubhouse – west side

has begun with the underground plumbing and construction work to follow in

April. Beginning in late April or May, the tennis courts will be resurfaced and

new lighting installed to accommodate both tennis and pickleball. Both activi-

ties are enjoyed by many residents and will attract new owners and renters

alike. A newly constructed more stable launch is in place at the north end of the

property, making it easier and safer for our kayakers to access the beautiful

scenery and wildlife of the bay and intracoastal waterways. The first phase of

the reconstruction of our seawall is nearing completion. We will all be glad for

the noise and construction traffic to abate and our bayside landscaping and

dock access to return to normal. A special thanks to those Board members who

helped oversee this much needed and hugely successful project. Finally, new

plantings, reconfigurations and landscape clean up continue to enhance our

property.

Thanks to all of our committee members, staff and hands on volunteers who

have assisted with all of these projects.

On a personal note, I’d like to thank my partners on the Board for their thought-

ful input and commitment to their fiduciary obligations to our owners. Board

membership is a volunteer position, and managing the needs of a 155 unit com-

munity can be challenging at times, but rewarding when progress is made.

While not all decisions are popular, please know our focus is on the common

good and that we strive to maintain and enhance our collective safety and in-

vestment in this beautiful property.

For both full and part time residents, I encourage you to stay in touch through

attendance at monthly Board meetings via Zoom (or hopefully in person later

this year) and to visit our website (sunrisecove-siestakey.com) to access up-

dates and important documents.

Seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. or midnight on the weekends, the Siesta Key Breeze Trolley is free for all riders. The featured committee this issue is the newly formed “Paint Committee”. Sun-rise Cove buildings are scheduled for painting in 2022 and an owner vote is required for a color change. The com-mittee is working with Jim Bonner and Beth Martin at Sherwin Williams to pro-

vide our owners with color selections to reflect a more contemporary look. We will keep you updated on their progress.
