If you are not willing to learn, no
one can help you. If
you are determined to learn, no
one can stop you.
Fami ly Newsletter No. 24 ● February 19 – February 22 , 2019
Your child deserves to
have a strong start to
every school day.
Help your child develop
good punctuality habits by
bringing him/her to class
on time every day!
Children who arrive
after 7:45 a.m. are late
for their class. Late-
arriving children are
missing valuable
education time as well as
disrupting the class that
is already in session.
If your child is tardy,
please know that you will
be asked to sign and date
the time of actual arrival
to class for our records.
Thank you for your
cooperation.
Help Your Child Set High Goals!
Everyone is filled with
high hopes and big expectations for academic
success and achievement.
But, how do you keep up
the learning momentum
and your child’s
motivation? The answer is
to start talking and set
goals together. Please
consider using these tips
in your family’s day-to-day routine, any child at
any age can achieve
greater confidence, self-
esteem and success!
• No matter what your
child’s age or level of
ability, it’s never too
early to teach them the
fundamentals to help them succeed, and this
includes setting goals.
• Sit down with your
child and set goals
together.
• Goals need to be set
at a level that is more
advanced than the
level the child is
currently working at,
but not so advanced that it is unachievable
or beyond reach.
• Share your goals with
family members (e.g.,
over dinner, in the car
ride to school) so that
everyone knows and
can support your
child as they work
towards achieving
these goals.
• Children must be
motivated,
otherwise
nothing can be
accomplished.
It’s essential that
they perceive the
goal as being of
value to them.
• Please know that
positive thinking
is a very
powerful thing,
so if they feel as
though they can
meet the
challenge, they
will!
President’s Day
Observed February 18
¡La Puntualidad es la llave al éxito!
Su niño merece
tener un buen
comienzo cada día
en la escuela.
Ayude a su niño (a) a
desarrollar buenos
hábitos de
puntualidad
trayéndolo (a) a
clase a tiempo.
¡Los niños que lleguen
después de la 7:45 a.m.
se consideran tarde para
su clase!
¡Los niños que llegan
tarde pierden un tiempo
educativo muy valioso y
al mismo tiempo están
interrumpiendo a la
clase que está ya en
sesión!
Si su niño llega tarde,
por favor sepa que se
le pedirá que firme y
feche la hora de
llegada actual a clase
para nuestros
registros.
Gracias por su
cooperación.
Todos están llenos de
esperanzas y grandes
expectativas de éxito
académico y logro.
¿Pero cómo pueden
mantener la motivación
de su hijo? Empieza a
hablar y establecer
metas juntos.
¡Por favor considere
usar estos consejos en la
rutina diaria de su
familia. Cualquier niño
de cualquier edad puede
alcanzar mayor
confianza, autoestima y
éxito!
• No importa la edad
o nivel de habilidad
de su hijo/hija,
nunca es demasiado
temprano o
demasiado tarde
para enseñarles los
fundamentos y
ayudarles a tener
éxito.
• Siéntese con su niño
para ponerse metas
juntos.
• Alcanzables: las metas
deben ser de un nivel
más avanzado que el
que actualmente
trabaja con su niño,
pero no tan avanzado
que es inalcanzable o
fuera de alcance.
• Comparta sus metas
con miembros de la
familia (por ejemplo,
durante la cena, en el
auto camino a la
escuela) para que todos
sepan y puedan apoyar
a su hijo mientras
trabajan hacia el logro
de estos objetivos.
• Los niños deben
sentirse motivados,
si no, no se logra
nada. Es esencial
que vean la meta
como algo de valor
para ellos mismos.
El poder positivo de
pensamiento es algo
muy importante, así
que si se sienten
como si pueden
cumplir el reto, lo
harán.
SI SE PUEDE!
¡Ayude a Su Hijo/Hija a Establecer Metas Altas!

Help your child learn to read! The most commonly used words in English follow few spelling or pronunciation rules and cause children great difficulty when they are beginning to read. If you help your child master these words and know them "by sight”, then s/he will be able to focus on the more important content words. Reading will be more interesting and more enjoyable as a result! Please help your child practice his/her sight word list on a daily basis. It will make a dramatic difference as s/he begins to read.
